Organizing your office can be a big task. So we’re going to break it down into three easy steps so you can get it done without the stress.

First of all clear out the space one item at a time. As you’re going through the items sort them as necessary. Trash what’s trash. File what needs to get filed and store any other items.

Second of all, keep frequently used items close to you. On my desk I only keep my computer, a couple of pens and a stapler. I don’t even keep my printer on my desk. I have a wireless printer that’s away in the closet and that’s just fine by me.

And lastly keep your action files at your fingertips. If you’re using a file everyday or every week you want to have it close at hand so you don’t have to find it. Any other files can be archived under your desk, in a closet or in another room if you have a larger office.

If you put these three steps into place, you’ll definitely have an organized office that’s efficient and effective.
