I get a lot of new entrepreneurs asking me questions like, "What do I do Jason and how do I do it?" when they are starting their new business.
And I’m sure you’ve got those questions too for your business or for your business idea and those are good questions, but it’s not the most important question. When your starting out there’s really only one question that makes a difference and that’s why? Meaning what’s your why? Do you have a big burning passion that you’re connected to and that’s driving you and pushing you forward? Because if you don’t, you’ll always use ‘the what’ and ‘the how’ as a reason for not doing that thing you said you were going to do. And it doesn’t make a difference what your why is.
It could be that you want to be so successful that you can give money to charity for the rest of your life. It can be that you want to prove yourself to your parents. It can be that you want to build something that no one’s ever built before. All that matters is that it’s a big meaningful reason to you and that your connected to it and it’s the thing that drives you when you wake up in the morning and before you go to sleep every night. That’s what you’ve got to be connected to, because ‘the what’ and ‘the how’ are answers that are out. They are not the most important thing in the beginning. In the beginning what’s important is knowing why you’re doing what you’re doing and being connected to that answer.
