Lolo Siderman, Founder and CEO of Gypsywing Media (http://www.gypsywing.com/) talks about building a brand. These five simple tips will help you create a sticky brand that will draw in customers and keep them.
- A brand represents a promise to your customers
- Maintain consistency with logo design & colors
- Take the time to create a professional website
- Follow through to fulfill brand expectations
- Pay close attention to customer feedback
So for entrepreneurs or small businesses, it’s important that you build a solid brand. And a brand is more than a logo, it’s a promise. It’s a promise of what you’re going to deliver to your client. But given that, it’s important to have a look that’s consistent throughout.
So getting that logo from the beginning and using it consistently, using it on social media, using it on your website, having it on your e-mail signature, having it on your business card and making sure it’s the same everywhere and using the same colors everywhere are just a couple of small things you can do to keep that brand consistency throughout that look.
Another important thing is having a professional website. So with the solid brand, you know that you look at other people’s websites and judge how reputable or solid a company is by the feel and the look and the content of the website so making sure that you keep that in mind when you’re building your own website is another important way that you can build your solid brand.
And again, a brand is a promise, so following through on the promises that you make to your clients and keeping that in mind when you make a promise, don’t say that you can do something if you don’t know you can or you don’t think that you’re going to be able to follow it through. If you put something out there to your clients, make sure you’re following through and that really helps keep that brand solid.
Listen to your customer’s definition of your brand. Because the brand is more than what you want it to be. It’s also the way that your customers experience your brand. So listening to what they have to say to you, listening to what they’re saying online is another important aspect of keeping that solid brand, and then dealing with it if they’re not happy with something or, you know, making adjustments if – if they are experiencing it in a way that you haven’t thought of before and maybe like that.
So building that solid brand is incredibly important whether you’re a giant company or an entrepreneur startup. And those are a few ways that you can make sure that the brand you build is solid and respected within your industry.
