Q: What can I sell on Docstoc?

A: You can sell a variety of documents on Docstoc, such as e-books, guides and tutorials, academic papers, editorials, legal contracts and agreements, business documents, research papers, excel spreadsheets, quizzes and tests, financial models, diagrams, and much more. Supported file types include: .doc, .xls, .ppt, .pdf, .rtf, .txt, .docx, .xlsx, .ppts.

Q: Are there any restrictions on what type of documents I can sell?

A: You can only sell documents which you have created yourself or which you have the rights to sell. You are not allowed to upload or sell spam, adult content, advertising of any kind and copyrighted documents for which you do not own the rights or have permission to sell.

Q: What are the fees for selling my documents?

A: For the first 60 days from opening your account there are no fees, and sellers keep 100% of all sales. After 60 days, the proceeds from all sales are split evenly between the seller and Docstoc (sellers keep 50% of all sales). You will never incur any transaction fees or other charges for selling your documents. Docstoc's portion will be deducted from your monthly payments.

Q: When do I get paid?

A: Payments are issued within 30 days of the last day of each month, whenever your outstanding balance on the last day of the month reaches $100. If your balance does not reach $100 it will carry over to the following month. For example, if you earned $75 on April, and $65 on May, you will be issued a payment for $140 on or before June 30th.

Q: How do I get paid?

A: You can select to be paid by check or by PayPal. You can set your payment preference in your Payment Information page.

Q: What is your refund policy?

A: We offer every user a 7-day money back guarantee, in case they are not satisfied with the document purchased. In the event that your document is refunded, your account will be debited accordingly.

Q: How should I price my documents?

A: You are free to set any price you'd like for your documents. We have documents that range from $5 to $500, depending on the length and content. On average, documents in the DocStore sell for $15 to $30.

Q: How do I upload documents for sale?

A: Once your seller account is established, you can click on the main upload page and click on "Upload to my store".

Q: Is there a limit to the number of documents I can sell?

A: No, there is no limit.

Q: Why is my account pending?

A: After you submit your application and upload your documents your account will be reviewed by Docstoc. Please check your email for your account status.

Q: Why wasn't my account approved?

A: All accounts are reviewed by Docstoc, to make sure all the documents posted for sale meet our quality standards. If you received an email notifying you that your account was not approved, please refer to that email for the reason.

Q: I already uploaded documents to my Docstoc account. How can I start selling these documents?

A: You can't sell documents you uploaded as a regular docstoc member. In order to post documents for sale, you'll need to re-upload them for sale after your sellers account is established.

Q: I currently live outside of the United States. Can I still sell documents?

A: Yes, you can. We have no geographical or language restrictions.
