From outdoor recreational activities and sports to worldwide travel adventures, Shawn Baybutt keeps life interesting. Although his days are spent managing a fishing lodge, Shawn Baybutt spends his free time hiking, watching hockey, and planning another exciting trip. Shawn Baybutt has traveled to Egypt to see the pyramids, sphinx, Luxor, and Abu Simbel, and scuba-dived in the Red Sea to see the Eel Garden, Blue Hole, the Lighthouse and Ras Abu Gallum. Shawn Baybutt's latest adventure took place in India where he witnessed the nation that is quickly becoming the most populated country in the world and how it is coming to grips with technology and development. Shawn has also been to Israel, China, Mexico, the United States, England, and Nepal to see the Himalayas, where he enjoyed a 15 day trek in the Kumbhu region and experienced a great view of the majestic Mount Everest. As passionate hiker, Shawn has also hiked several long distance trails in Canada over the past few years. He has spent 4 days hiking the Juan de Fuca Trail as well as 8 days trekking along the West Coast Trail. (Both rugged trails are found on the scenic west coast of Vancouver Island.), Shawn Baybutt also completed a challenging ten day, 97km long hike called Akshayuk Pass in Auyuittiq National Park on Baffin Island in 2005. The many adventures and experiences have given Shawn Baybutt the chance to appreciate majestic sceneries and diverse cultures around the world.
