The Supreme Path of Discipleship The 28 Categories of Yogic Precepts - Gampopa
"For those who share in the quest for Divine Wisdom follows, recorded in writing, the most highly esteemed precepts, called 'The Supreme Path, the Rosary of Precious Gems', transmitted to Gampopa, either directly or indirectly, through that inspired Dynasty of Gurus, out of their love for him" It is commonly believed that the Great Guru Gampopa (otherwise known as Dvagpo-Larhe), compiled this work, and that he handed it on with this injunction: 'I entreat those devotees of generations yet unborn, who will honour my memory and regret not having met me in person, to study this, The Supreme Path, The Rosary of Precious Gems, and also The Precious Ornament of Liberation, along with other religious treatises. The result will be equivalent to that of an actual meeting with myself.'
Power of Will - FRANK CHANNING HADDOCK
The best rule in the control of others is the Golden Rule. In the long run, life reciprocates with those who do unto others as they would that others should do unto them. That power of Will which can compel one to be polite, considerate, patient, helpful, luminously cheerful, is sure to cast a large and agreeable spell upon our fellows.

Mystic Christianity - Yogi Ramacharaka
I read this book, Mystic Christianity, about 30 years ago when I was just a teen about 17 years old. I had a yearning in my heart for the knowledge of the great masters, probably something that continued on from my previous birth. This book was one of 3 Yogi Ramacharaka books that helped me to obtain more knowledge of the truths of the occult masters and great yogis of India. The truths of reincarnation and mysticism -- and even diet, as most true occultist and yogis are vegetarians. Vegetarian diet is expounded upon in the Bhagavad-gita by Lord Krishna (3,000 B.C.). The book Mystic Christianity explained many of the truths of Christ that were originally part of the Catholic church, in which I was raised, but had been done away with as heresy -- such as reincarnation. "ye must be born again" is always taken by certain so-called Christians to simply mean that one has to experience a re-birth of religous consciousness. But actually, Jesus was speaking more in terms of reincarnation. For only after many lives does a person evolve upwards to the Truth. The Truth is One as God is One -- there cannot be 2 or 3 truths or gods. The truth may come guised in the garb of different religions but the underlying seed of each religion is Truth. Later, I found the path which was right for me. It is called Vaishnavism, and simply put, it is the worship of Vishnu or Krishna. My spiritual master told me that Christ is the Greek variation of the name of God, Krishna. God has many names according to His different past-times and according to His appearance in different regions of the world: Krishna, Jehovah, Allah, Buddha, Govinda, Christ, Hari, Vasudeva - these are just a few of the millions of names of God. He is unlimited with unlimited number of souls residing with Him in the spiritual world. Yet, some fanatics will make proclamations that He has only one name and only one son. Even an ordinary man has more than one name and one son. I recommend reading both Mystic Christianity
Autobiography of a Yogi - Paramahansa Yogananda
This is not an ordinary book. It is a spiritual treasure. Rarely does a sage of Paramhansa Yogananda’s stature write a firsthand account of his life experiences. This spiritual classic has been read by millions. Followers of many religious traditions have come to recognize Autobiography of a Yogi as a masterpiece of spiritual literature. Yet, for all its depth, it is full of gentle humor, lively stories, and practical common sense.
Yogi Philosophy - Yogi Ramacharaka
The great lesson to be learned by every soul, is the truth of the Oneness of All. This knowledge carries with it all the rest. It causes one to follow the precept of the Son of Mary, who said: "And thou shalt love the Lord, thy God, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength;" and "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." When man grows into a consciousness of the truth that All is One - that when one loves God he is loving the Whole Thing - that his neighbor is indeed himself - then he has but a few more classes to pass through before he passes into the "High School" of Spiritual Knowledge.
The Science of Breath - Yogi Ramacharaka
From the standpoint of Western physiology alone, without reference to the Oriental philosophies and science, this Yogi system of Complete Breathing is of vital importance to every man, woman, and child who wishes to acquire health and keep it. Its very simplicity keeps thousands from seriously considering it, while they spend fortunes in seeking health through complicated and expensive "systems." Health knocks at their door and they answer not. Verily the stone which the builders reject is the real cornerstone of the Temple of Health.
On The Heights - Christian D. Larson
Madeline Of The Desert - Arthur Weigall
There was something dreamily monotonous in the recurrent features of the landscape and the regular halts at stations all built upon one plan; yet Father Gregory could not sleep. When he closed his eyes he saw before him the appealing figure of Madeline Rorke, her unfathomable gaze fixed upon him; and all through the long night he prayed that he might be in time to save her from death, or if her proposal to do away with herself had been but an exaggeration, that he might save her soul alive. " My Christ, Thou wilt not forsake one of Thy children! " he murmured; and with hope beaming in his rugged old face he said over to himself a hundred times: " Though her sins be as scarlet, yet shall they be as white as snow." He had long since given up all speculation as to why he should be concerning himself so deeply in the welfare of a girl who was almost a stranger to him : he had accepted the call as coming from the Master, and he was setting out at His bidding to find one of His lambs that had strayed from the flock. Madeline was an outcast from society, and might be regarded as a menace to it ; yet he believed that even in that moral degradation Christ walked by her side. It was almost unthinkable that the Deity could follow a woman of her grade down into the darkness of her untutored life; yet he believed that the saving hand of the Good Shepherd could stretch down even to depths far below the limits of his own comprehension. He recalled, and now said over to himself, the words of the poet Rabindranath Tagore which he had read in a publication of the India Society and had memorized on account of their beauty
Concerning Prayer - ITS NATURE, ITS DIFFICULTIES AND ITS VALUE - Anson Harold
In this volume a lady, three laymen, two parish clergymen, two clerical dons (all Anglicans), a Wesleyan theological tutor, a Congregational minister, and an American professor belonging to the Society of Friends, put forward some thoughts which are the result of a sustained corporate effort to clear up their own ideas on this important matter. Most of them have been able to meet regularly at a series of conferences in which subjects were discussed, and essays previously drafted were frankly criticized, to be rewritten and again discussed at later meetings. Besides the actual writers of the essays, the conferences were regularly attended by Miss M. E. Campbell, by whom the Indices have been compiled, by Miss M. S. Earp and occasionally by other friends, whose presence contributed a valuable element to the discussions. That so many fellow workers in such a field, approaching from so many different points of view, should have reached unanimity on all these subjects was not to be expected. All through they have endeavoured neither to establish nor to defend positions but simply to follow truth, and in seeking truth together each has learnt much from others. But differences of opinion, even on important points, have not entirely disappeared. Each writer is therefore finally responsible only for what occurs in his own contribution. The writers are under no illusion as to their personal competency to plumb to the depths the great matters which they have essayed to treat. But frank discussion between men and women inheriting different religious traditions, and mutual criticism in an atmosphere of corporate devotion and spiritual fellowship, seem to help the individual to a wider and deeper vision than he would be capable of attaining alone. Believing therefore that they have themselves learnt much, they hope that they may be found to have something to offer to others who in these days are feeling the perplexities of existence, to help them to lift up their hearts with a

The Story of My Life - Helen Keller
Helen Keller would not be bound by conditions. Rendered deaf and blind at 19 months by scarlet fever, she learned to read (in several languages) and even speak, eventually graduating with honors from Radcliffe College in 1904, where as a student she wrote The Story of My Life. That she accomplished all of this in an age when few women attended college and the disabled were often relegated to the background, spoken of only in hushed tones, is remarkable. But Keller's many other achievements are impressive by any standard: she authored 13 books, wrote countless articles, and devoted her life to social reform. An active and effective suffragist, pacifist, and socialist (the latter association earned her an FBI file), she lectured on behalf of disabled people everywhere. She also helped start several foundations that continue to improve the lives of the deaf and blind around the world.
Guide To Advanced Yoga Techniques - Yogi Ramacharaka
In India, the Candidates for Initiation into the science of "Raja Yoga," when they apply to the Yogi Masters for instruction, are given a series of lessons designed to enlighten them regarding the nature of the Real Self, and to instruct them in the secret knowledge whereby they may develop the consciousness and realization of the real "I" within them. They are shown how they may cast aside the erroneous or imperfect knowledge regarding their real identity.
