I am working as VP(Corporate) law with Monnet Ispat & Energy limited .I graduated in Science in PCM group, thereafter I was selected in 17th Navel Aviation Course from No-4. Air-force Selection Board, Varanasi (UP), but Joined IIT Roorkee under family compulsions .After graduation from Roorkee in Architectural Engineering with Hons, joined a Consultant firm In Kuwait (Kuwaiti Engineers Office -KEO), later on shifted to a Building Engineering and Components Manufacturing Company (KIRBY Building Systems) as Project Engineer and completed HQ building of National Bank of Kuwait. Limited promotion options compelled me to add advance qualifications, hence I moved to San-Luis Obispo, California USA for PG in Environment and City Planning. In 1982, returned to India as founder Executive Director of Environmental Planning and Coordination Organization (EPCO), the first environmental management and Coordination Agency in Asia. Served in various positions of higher level and achieved assigned growth and targets. However, due to heavy political interference, career growth saturation and non award of IAS, quit the state government service and started own firm- Dr. Rakesh Saxena & Associates as Proprietor, in 1988, providing comprehensive management, construction and legal consultancy, after the year of 1996, due to the paucity in management and construction project assignments, I have focused comprehensively, on law and legal aspects only. I have practiced law for more then 12 years, as an “Advocate” in the areas of litigation, Arbitration, Contract, Corporate and Constitutional law. I have about one year experience of IP laws too, where have got some Trade Marks registered and researches patented. This experience base which is still improving can enable me to provide legal support to other departments of employer, hire/build team, plan and direct all aspects of the legal business, manage performances, set goals and lead a team conducting Legal Operations. The experiences which I have acquired in my law practice is useful in managing multi-site delivery for law-firms, acquiring /developing new business, negotiations with prospective clients and finalize contracts. On several cases, I have liaised and briefed senior counsels of High Court/Supreme Court of India; therefore I see no problem in liasioning with seniors or partners. I am basically a graduate from Indian Institute of Technology, the premier engineering institute of India, where I have studied techniques of managing and supervising, delivery, timelines, and quality. As a Project Engineer, I have also used the techniques of CPM/PERT on site and have earned appreciations from one of the Client of my employer (SSH) in Kuwait (National Bank of Kuwait HQ Building). As regards to financial management aspect, I have done courses in performance budgeting from National Productivity Council of India. I have served as Managing Director for EPCO, MPVPS and Housing Board in Department of Environment, Govt. of M.P, where I was responsible for P/L in double entry accounting systems. My management style is participative, may be because of the American influence, I believe in the philosophy that respect is commanded and never demanded therefore I prefer to lead from the front. I am good in personal management, which can be testified by several of my subordinates who served under me. I am a “netizen”: a regular internet surfer who keeps himself abreast with latest development of law. I have conducted several legal researches on fact and law, and have been involved in legal discovery in due diligence exercises. I have drafted/vetted variety of contracts, beginning from simple rent agreement to Joint-venture and confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements for various clients in Japan, Far East and two in USA. I basically understand jurisprudence –the science of law. As Indian, American and English law is based on Common law doctrine; therefore I can claim that I understand the sprit of the law of all the three countries. As regards to office management and paralegal activities, I reckon, they have been part and parcel of my life more then a quarter of the century. As a lawyer, I like to face novel legal issues. I am particularly well-suited to a position where I can seek adventure and enjoy navigating uncharted waters simultaneously, providing the opportunity to help establish the precedents that will govern my destiny in the organization Currently, I am working as Senior Technical & legal Advisor to several Companies/ firms and various multinational foreign companies, who are finding the liberal FDI policy of India very encouraging. I am living in Delhi and my work area stretches from Bangalore to Mumbai to Gurgaon to NOIDA and of course, Delhi. I have acquired experience in cases pertaining to Corporate and Commercial Law, Civil Litigations, Consumer, Commercial, and Arbitration Law.
