GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE CLASS SUBJECT MATTER
This is the generic class for electrical apparatus and correspondingmethods for performing calculation operations.
SCOPE OF THE CLASS
(1)Note. This class is limited to electrical and calculatingcomputer apparatus and corresponding methods wherein a calculation operationis performed on information carried by wave propagation (eitherelectromagnetic or compressional waves) provided that inputto and output from the apparatus is electrical. Note: wherethe apparatus performing the calculation operation is electricallyresponsive but the data is not presented to and output from theapparatus as electrical signals, classification is withthe appropriate wave energy subject matter, as per oneof the optical classes.
(2)Note. Significantly claimed apparatus external tothis class, claimed in combination with apparatus underthe class definition, which perform data processing or calculationoperations are classified in the class appropriate to the externaldevice unless specifically excluded therefrom.
(3)Note. Nominally claimed apparatus external to thisclass in combination with apparatus under the class definition isclassified in this class unless provided for in the appropriateexternal class.
