LNAH-1 – Naha Shopping Tour (without meal) RM 75 (A) / 54 (C)
 Shureimon Gate. It is the second of Shuri Castle's main gates. It was built in the 16th
century. The gate reflects strong Chinese influence, alongside indigenous religious
traditions. The four Chinese characters framed on the gate - Shu, rei, no, and kuni, which
mean 'Land of Propriety' - were added to the gate long after it was built. The structure of the
gate is similar to that of Chinese three-bay turret gates, and is covered with a red hip-and-
gable tiled roof. A picture of the gate appears on the Japanese 2,000 yen note, released in
2000 in commemoration of the G8 Economic Summit in Okinawa.
 Kokusai Dori. The main entertainment strip in Naha, is near Kumoji and boasts a mile (1.6
km) long stretch of stores. There are many restaurants as well as shopping centers and
tourist gift shops. The nightlife on Kokusai Dori is always bustling with clubs, bars, and cheap
eateries open until the wee hours of the morning. It is called the "Miracle Mile" and is a
symbol of the recovery because the street rebounded so well after World War II. There is an
intriguing mix of modern and traditional here.

from coral display a natural transformation – which took place over approximately 400,000
years ago. The golden limestone is Japan's best, and the 20,000 stalactites that hang from
the 20-meter high ceiling are awe-inspiring. Enjoy this quiet world wrapped in mystique.
 War Memorial Museum. The Battle of Okinawa of 1945 was the largest amphibious assault
undertaken during the Pacific campaign of World War 2. It was also the largest sea-land-air
battle in history, running from April through to June 1945. Over 100,000 Japanese and
72,000 American soldiers lost their lives in the battle, and civilian deaths have been
estimated at over 150,000. Around 90 per cent of the buildings on the island are said to have
been destroyed, the landscape devastated. The Okinawa Prefectural Peace Memorial
Museum is located in the Peace Memorial Park at Itoman near the southern tip of the island.
It offers a sobering account of the events leading up to the battle, the battle itself and the
