Senior Software Engineer
Currently working on the BRAS capabilities of Redback Networks SE800
Platform. Using DHCP protocols for atm bridge1483 and dot1q and ether
encapsulation using local and Radius authentication.
Implemented the test infrastructure for this feature from scratch. Before product
development was completed, helped development engineer in verifying the
early protocol implementation.
Designed tests to test functionality, protocol, interoperability, scalability,
performance and negative scenarios. Performed these tests manually and
automated them using Redback’s automation infrastructure using perl.
Helped System/Sales engineers with customer problem debugging and test
L2VPN and L3VPN testing for MPLS
Tested L2VPN capabilities of SE800 router using different encapsulation (vlan,
ether, atm bridge and route 1483 and frame-relay) using MPLS L3 protocols
including LDP and RSVP-TE for MPLS backbone.
Designed the test plan, tested and automated functionality, and interoperability
with Juniper and Cisco Routers and Extreme switches.
Used test tools from IXIA, Adtech/Spirent communications to test scalability
Performed different third party lab tests including Lightreading lab tests and
Multicast protocol testing
Tested basic Multicast protocol including PIM version 2, IGMP version 2 and
MSDP (Multicast Source Discovery Protocol).
Automated functional tests for PIM2, IGMP and MSDP using perl.
SE800’s FIB and Multicontext feature testing.
Tested and automated the Forwarding Information Base module of SE800.
Tested and automated SE800’s Multicontext feature where SE800 can support
multiple contexts with each context acting as a router. Automated and tested
different features like AAA, Routing protocols from a multi-context point of view.

Technical Lead/Senior Software Engineer
Technical Lead for SS7 and VOIP group
Responsible for planning the overall technical infrastructure and test planning
for SS7/IPDC implementation on Lucent’s RAS box. Created test plan.
Managed the group as more people were hired into the group. Was involved in
performing scalability testing using Hammer boxes.
Technical Lead for Routing group
Led a team of approx 6 people for testing IP and IPX protocols. The main
testing involved testing OSPF and RIP and static routing protocols with some
IPX testing as well as Ascend’s RAS boxes including TNT and Max4000.
Technical Lead/Consultant for a test group based in Bangalore, India.
At the beginning of 1998, Lucent hired Infosys Technologies of India
outsourcing some of the development and software QA projects. Was the first
person from the technical side, to work with Infosys in setting up a test
engineering group and lab. Helped train Infosys Engineers on Lucent’s Access
This test group in India eventually grew to 50 people. This group was
responsible for testing different functionality areas e.g. VPN (L2TP and others),
PPP and MPP, Radius authentication, Radius accounting, SNMP, TCP/IP
stack, IP routing, Appletalk, IP and IPX filters and Firewall.
Consultant for Test Automation project
Helped create the requirements and implementation roadmap for starting an
automation infrastructure using TCL/Tk. This group eventually developed and
automated regression testing for Lucent’s Access gateways.
Was also instrumental in testing the infrastructure prototypes, provided
feedback in automation analysis for ease of use and plug and play capabilities.

Managewise product was/is Novell’s management product.
Was involved in planning and testing this product in NDS (Netware Directory
Services) environment. This group had approx 6 people in it.
Technical lead for TN3270 group for Netware for SAA
Was a technical lead for this project, which involved 2 people.
July 1991 to June 1994: The Wollongong group, Palo Alto, Ca

Test Lead for testing Wollongong’s TCP/IP application on Windows Operating
System. These applications included TN3270, FTP, and Telnet etc.
Test Engineer for testing Wollongong’s TCP/IP stack on DOS OS. This
included testing Ethernet drivers and TCP/IP stack.
Test Engineer for testing Wollongong’s NFS implementation on DOS OS. This
included testing NFS protocol implementation on Wollongong’s product and
comparing the functionality/performance with SUN’s PC-NFS Project.
