Lead Content Developer: Responsible for creating lessons, course curriculum and authoring a
textbook for Coastline Learning System and Kendall-Hunt Publishers. Duties include developing

Lecturer: Teach every semester in the Communication Studies Department and constantly strive

Woodrow Wilson Classical High School, Long Beach, Ca (April 2003-present)
Literature and Communication Teacher: Teach the senior elective English class that focuses on
the synthesis of literature and principles of communication. Integrate elements of speech and
debate, linguistics, theater and communication theory. Solely responsible for creating the
curriculum of the course.
Journalism Teacher/Advisor: Teach the elective journalism course. Cover Associated Press
writing style and responsible for production of school newspaper. Publish 8 12-page issues a year.
AP Literature Teacher: Teach the Advanced Placement English course and prepare senior
students to take and pass the AP exam in the spring semester. Students who pass receive college
credit for English.
Bible as Literature Teacher: Teach the elective English course dealing with the literary and
historical significance of the Bible.
Speech and Debate Coach: Coordinator of the Speech and Debate Program and advisor of the

Lecturer: Taught a series of courses (Business Writing I, II and III) to Los Angeles County

Lecturer: Taught a variety of courses in the communication discipline. Classes taught are detailed
below:
o Voice and Articulation: Undergraduate course focusing on the International Phonetic
Alphabet and its application to effective vocalization for the speaker. Curriculum included
units on the anatomical vocal mechanism, aesthetics of oration, projection and
enunciation, accent and dialect, English as a second language and rigorous competency in
the IPA.
o Small Group Discussion: Undergraduate course introducing the students to
communication theories regarding group dynamics and interaction. Focused on task and
maintenance roles, collaborative projects and service learning.
o Essentials of Public Speaking: Undergraduate course surveying the principles of
successful speechmaking. Included an overview of communication apprehension,
audience and speech analysis, elements of delivery and cultural concerns for the speaker.
o Interpersonal Communication: Undergraduate course focusing on communication
theories relevant to the interpersonal experience. Curriculum included the process of
defining communication, individual and collaborative activities and active discussion.

Certificated Substitute Teacher: Taught grades K-12 in a variety of subject areas (e.g. English,
algebra, history, physics, environmental science, marine biology, health and fine and performing
