                                     TENNIS LESSON SKILL LEVELS
Beginning I: This player has minimal or no knowledge of tennis. We recommend this class where this is the first
experience with tennis. Basic forehand, backhand, volley, and serve will be taught.

Beginning lI: Must have successfully completed a Beginning I session of tennis. This class will build on basic strokes,
volleys, serves, and work towards developing game play. Tennis terms and score keeping are taught.

Beginning III: This is an advanced beginning class for the player who can sustain a short rally of slow pace. Emphasis
will be on strokes and foot work technique. There will be an introduction to game and court positioning
for singles and doubles. A skills test must be passed on the first day of class. Instructor’s approval
               required.

Intermediate: Player is fairly consistent when hitting medium paced ground strokes, volleys and serves, but is still
uncomfortable with a variety of shots. This class will teach warm-up exercises, drills, strategy, practice
              serves. and game play.

Advanced Intermediate: Player has stroke and serve dependability with some power and directional control on both.
Player has good over all court coverage. Class will include drills, strategy, and play. Game strategy will
              be reviewed.

Advanced: Player has dependable and well-paced serve and ground strokes, assertive net play with controlled
overhead and lobs. Handles spin and slice fairly well. Teamwork in doubles is evident. Must have
instructor’s approval before registering for this class.
