DIVISIONAL COUNCIL MEETING
Tuesday 25th September 2007
Held – 1 Pepper Place, Jerrabomberra.
Meeting opened – 8 PM

Business arising from Previous Minutes

General Business
AGM
The following ACT Proposals were tabled:
Web and Domain hosting on the ASRF Web site. The proposal to sell web
space from the ASRF web site to charter clubs was passed unanimously. A
flyer shall be sent to all clubs.
AHRF. The proposal to re-name the ASRF to the AHRF was unanimously
rejected.
Re-branding for post 48 support. It was unanimously agreed that the
AASRF should re-brand itself to reflect more support for post 48 cars.
Flyers for Rego Information
Submission fro most states are still being sought for a flyer to be printed which
outlines procedures and contacts for registration of Street Rods in all states.
They shall go on display and be available for free in various rod-related
businesses and shows.
ASRN
Contract for the next 12 months of ASRN was won by Drive Publishing. It was
also agreed that the images of Hot Rods on the cover of SRN should only be of
legally registered, roadworthy cars. Fenderless, or otherwise unroadworthy,
ASRF class vehicles should only be depicted as such, with no registration
labels or number plates on competition cars, under-construction cars or
“staged” settings.

ASRF Branding
Sponsorship. The ASRF will sponsor the Nostalgia Drags as part of its
commitment to showcasing our hobby to members and potential members. A
proposal to sponsor Rodder’s Life has been tabled, and is under review.
Club Promotional Fund. The $500 club promotional fund has been reinstated,
with conditions and new rules. Contact your State Director for more
information.
Membership Cards. ASRF Membership cars are to be reviewed, with a view to
purchasing a plastic card printer similar to those used by licensed clubs.
State Promotion Allowance
The allowance made to DCs to promote the ASRF at State events has been re-
introduced, with conditions applied to prevent rampant rorting. It will be
reviewed at the next AGM to gauge its effect.
Financial Reporting Improvements
Several initiatives have been put in place to improve financial effectiveness of
the ASRF:
Director’s Equipment Update
Improved budgeting reporting
Sate GST processes have been improved
TAC Expenditure. Annual budgets are now required from TAC Chairman
Property Purchase. Options to purchase Head Office property instead of
renting are being investigated.
National Secretary and Office Manager positions and salaries have been
reviewed and adjusted accordingly. The National Secretary, in particular,
has been assuming most of the duties of the National Administrator, and
has been remunerated accordingly.
Hot Rod Show Promoters payment schedules have been re-adjusted to
allow for the way shows have evolved in recent years.
Constitutional Changes
Some constitutional changes that were tabled have been voted down because
the proper procedure has not been followed.
Chief National Steward
Lard has been voted back in to the position of CNS unopposed.
Nationals Report
The 2008 Tasmanian Regional Nationals Report was tabled.
The 2007 Goulburn Nationals Report was tabled. The $10,000 float has been
returned to the ASRF. The $47,000 profit has been banked. The $13,000 worth
of GST credits are being banked. The list of assets from the 2007 Nationals has
been valued at about $20,000.

Western Australia
Nationals Entrants with Two Cars
A proposal was tabled regarding entry fees for Nationals entrants who bring
two cars. It was agreed that a discount would apply only if the cars were owned
and registered in the entrant’s name.

Nationals Venue Voting
In response to correcting perceived flaws in the Nationals venue voting
processes, the NCC shall make the decision three years before the event. Only
those proposals tendered at least 6 weeks in advance of the call shall be
considered.
TAC and National Rego
The Duty Statement has been tabled for the TAC National Coordinator. The
National Guidelines Coordinator position has been removed.
There was some discussion regarding state TACs reporting to the ASRF State
Director.
Fund Raising
Several fund raising initiatives have been tabled and commissioned.
Calendars
Merchandise. Proposal yet to be submitted.
2009 Raffle Car. Three quotes to build were tabled, Elvis won. It shall be a
32 Ford Roadster.
ASRF Web Site
The new site was reviewed at the AGM, and all agreed it is better, cheaper and
faster. The proposed new Merchandising web site was demonstrated, and met
with broad approval.
The developers of the new sites were thanked for their efforts.
Next AGM
The next AGM will be held at Goulburn, September 2008. The next phone
hook-up will be 21st November 2007.
Club Business
CHRA. The advertised cost for the Tasmanian Regional Nationals exceeds, by
several hundred dollars, the quote received by the CHRA delegate from the
Spirit of Tasmania.
