                  2011 CAMPUS CHARITABLE FUND

[ AGENCY BROCHURE AND PLEDGE FORM ]
Dear Colleagues,

The 2011 Campus Charitable Fund Drive (CCFD) will begin on September 19 and
run eight weeks until November 11. For the fourth year in a row the theme of this
campaign is Every Gift Matters. I am urging all of you to at least continue your level
of giving into the next year and, if possible, to increase that level.

I would like to announce that the community’s need for our contributions has
decreased over the past year but the opposite has occurred. In fact, the need is greater
than ever. For example, Illinois Kid’s Count reports that Champaign County’s
childhood poverty rate exceeds that of the state’s average. This is a rate that is trending
upward for the last decade. One can assume that poverty leads to hunger and hunger
leads to, among other problems, a diminished capacity to learn and succeed. Because
we are in the business of education this should be alarming to all of us who call this
community home.

The nonprofit organizations listed in this brochure are leaders in charitable support.
From Global Impact to the United Negro Fund to our own community-based United
Way that includes such great local assistance such as the eastern Illinois Food Bank,
these organizations and the dedicated people who work there have a proven track
record of ensuring that our money goes directly to the people who need it the most.
We should all be proud that in the past several years we have reached our goal and
donated more than $4 million over the past three years. That level of generosity on this
campus defines the character of our campus. And, with Dr. Nick Glumac, Cannon
Faculty Scholar and Professor of Mechanical Science and Engineering, as our Board
Chair, I am confident that we will reach and, in fact, even surpass this year’s goal of
$1.4 million.

Thank you so much for caring about this community.

Sincerely,

Robert A. Easter

Interim Chancellor, University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana

Dear Illinois Community,

I am delighted to serve the university community as chair of the 2011 Campus
Charitable Fund Drive (CCFD), following Maureen Banks who has done an
outstanding job in difficult times . Through our annual drive, the University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign continues its critical role in serving the needy by providing
support for a wide range of charitable causes .

The events of the past two years have produced unprecedented strain on our
community and state . Those organizations that serve the neediest have been especially
hardest hit . Through good times and bad, our campaign has been a stalwart supporter
of those who can most use the assistance . Recognizing the current extreme need, we
have maintained our annual goal at $1 .4 million, which is by far the largest charitable
collection from a state agency .

I encourage you to support the CCFD through your pledge . Together we can make
a difference . This brochure describes the participating Agencies and includes your
2011 Pledge Form . As always, you can give to one of eleven umbrella agencies and/
or designate your contribution within an agency . On behalf of those who will benefit
from your participation, I thank you for your support .

                                                    Best regards,

           2011 Campus Charitable Fund Drive
                                            September 19-November 11
                                            Goal: $1.4 million
                                            pledge online at www.ccfd.illinois.edu
MAKE YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS BY PAYROLL DEDUCTION, CHECK, OR GIFTS
    OF STOCK
Payroll Deduction: A contribution by payroll deduction can be made online at www .ccfd .illinois .edu or by
completing a pledge form to submit to your volunteer leader . Pledge forms can be obtained from your unit leader or
they can be found on the CCFD website under "resources ." Your total contribution will be divided equally among
    paychecks received during 2012 .

Gifts by Check or Stock: When making a contribution by check, it must be accompanied by a completed pledge
form . Please make check(s) payable to the appropriate umbrella agency, not the designated program . For example,
if you wish to contribute to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, your check should be made payable to the umbrella
agency, America's Charities . Submit completed pledge form and check(s) to your volunteer leader .

For stock gifts, complete the pledge form including the stock transfer section and submit to your volunteer leader .

Website Information: By logging onto www .ccfd .illinois .edu you can make your payroll deduction contribution and
also review your detailed contribution information from the 2010 fund drive .

Rollover: It is not necessary for you to submit a new pledge or make an online contribution if your payroll deduction
has no changes . Your contribution will automatically roll over to 2012 . However, to help volunteer leaders track the
progress of the fund drive, you may either submit a new pledge form indicating "no change to my current payroll
deduction to umbrella agencies" or go online and make the same selection(s) as 2010 .

For audit and accounting purposes, CCFD can no longer accept cash donations . We encourage you to consider
utilizing an online or printed pledge form to continue your valued support .

Participating Organizations
The University accepts the participation of those organizations that have been determined to be qualified organizations by the State
Comptroller under the Voluntary Payroll Deduction Act of 1983 . To be eligible for the state fund drive, organizations must meet criteria
outlined by state law including obtaining 4,000 signatures from state employees and maintaining a minimum of 500 payroll deductions in
order to remain eligible from year to year . Questions about eligibility may be directed to Cindy Dixon, SECA Statewide Administrator at
(217) 558-0964 . Eleven organizations are a part of the 2011 Campus Charitable Fund Drive (CCFD) . The descriptions in this brochure will
help you choose the agencies you would like to support with your donation . Percentages in the descriptions indicate the percentage of funds
spent for administration and fund-raising activities as reported by each umbrella agency . The choices are numerous; a complete index is at
the back of the brochure . Questions about individual agencies should be directed to those agencies or their umbrella organizations .

UNCF - The United Negro College Fund
America needs more college graduates . President Barack
Obama has committed the country to regaining world
leadership in the percentage of people with a college
                     education .

Because America needs the teachers, scientists, public servants
and good neighbors they will become . And it needs to make
sure that African Americans and other minorities - who will be
a majority of the population by 2050 - get the help they need
to attend college and graduate .

That means America needs UNCF .

UNCF knows how to get students into college, succeed there,
and move on to careers of success and service . We give college
scholarships to almost 9,000 students at more than 900
colleges each year . We provide financial and capacity-building
support to the 39 historically black colleges and universities
that are members of UNCF and their 55,000 students .

That's why more than 170,000 individuals, corporations and
foundations invest in UNCF each year . Because America
needs college graduates . Because it's the right thing to do .
And because, "a mind is a terrible thing to waste . "
