THERE IS/THERE ARE: to say that something exists somewhere
                      There is a letter on the desk. There are files in the drawer.
                      There is a client in the director’s office.

Prepositions
       Prepositions of place: in, on, under, in front of, behind, at, next to, at, …

              Example: there is a letter on the director’s desk.

       Some in affirmative sentences:
              With countable nouns:     some letters/workers/employees
                                 there are some letters on the table

              With uncountable nouns: some tea/work/time
                                 there is some tea in the kettle

       Any in negative and interrogative sentences:

       With countable nouns:     There aren’t any clients in the office.
                          Are there any e-mails for me today?
                          Yes, there are/no, there aren’t.

                              There isn’t any sugar in this coffee.
                              Is there any milk in it?
                              Yes, there is/no, there isn’t.

       Note requests:      Can I have some days off work?
       Offers:       Would you like some paper?

Use the following information about a sports centre to make sentences
