 The Referee and Meet Manager may modify the Event List for time consideration.
 This meet will be deck seeded and is going to be a cardless meet. Calgary Swordfish will provide the
Heat Sheets and Psych Sheets. All events will be timed finals.
 Clubs will be charged $12.00 per swimmer to enter, regardless of the number of events entered. Please
make a cheque out to Calgary Swordfish Swim Club, and hand it to Mark Hlady at the Officials Room –
Room V108 by 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 20. This fee includes the payment of parking fees for all
         attendees at the meet.
 All Swordfish Meet entries must be registered with ASSA. Proof of registration may be called for at the
         meet.
 Scratches only will be permitted at the meet, no changes or additions.

Entries:
 Entries must be done using the ARDB website, emailing the entry by NOON Wednesday, June 10,

 Please provide a contact name and phone number with your Meet Entry.
 If time permits at the end of the meet, there may be exhibition coaches/parent relays.

Facilities:
 The pool can be found in the SAIT Campus Centre. There will be signs posted to direct people, as well
as volunteers stationed to direct the flow. Please be aware when crossing the C-Train tracks. See
attached directions to SAIT and map to the parking lot and pool.
 The SAIT Swimming Pool offers a 25 m, 6 lane pool for this meet, with a triple watch system. Please
advise your swimmers we will use overhead starts. All relay swimmers will have to be reminded to exit
2
the pool immediately after the change overs.
 Each ASSA club will be assigned a table with two chairs deckside for coaches. There is not much room
in the pool area for clubs to “camp out”, so we ask that your swimmers and their families relax between
races in the south side of the gymnasium across the hall from the pool. There will be bleachers
available for spectators, but we ask that when spectators are done watching “their” swimmer, they
move to the gymnasium. Eating and glass containers are not allowed at the pool level. Swimmers are
asked to clean up their areas before leaving the gymnasium.
 There is a concession that is open for the entire meet. It can be found upstairs, next to the arena.

Parking:
 It is very important to communicate parking protocol to the members of your club. The Swordfish Swim
Club will pay for parking, but you must park at lot P1 which is south of the Jubilee Auditorium parkade.
You must bring your validation ticket to poolside, where you will be directed to the validation machine.
The validated ticket is used to leave the parking lot. Please see attached map for location of Lot P1.

Warm Ups:
 Heat sheets will be available at 7:30 AM, for $3.00. One coach from each club will be provided two
free copies. Result sheets will not be available. Results will be posted at the meet and will be posted on
the ASSA website immediately after the meet. Teams will be given a number of results sheets
depending on the number of swimmers.
 Warm-ups will begin at 7:30 AM, with assigned swimming lanes, which will be posted. Horseplay
around the pool area will not be allowed. Coaches are asked to monitor their swimmers. ASSA warm-
up rules will be adhered to.
 Swimmers will be marshaled by use of posted Heat Sheets. If a swimmer's heat has mounted the blocks
without him or her, that swimmer is scratched from the event.

Officials: We will be e-mailing requirements for timers and other officials before the meet. The lane timing
assignments will be posted during warm up in Room V108. Lane Timer sheets will be provided.

Awards and Scoring:

 Points for individual events at the Swordfish Meet will be awarded as follows:
        Place 1 2 3 4 5 6
        Points 7 5 4 3 2 1

 Points for relay events Swordfish Meet will be awarded as follows:
        Place 1 2 3 4 5 6
        Points 14 10 8 6 4 2
 No splits may be used for times for points for this meet.
 Aggregate medals for the Swordfish Meet will be presented at the end of the meet, if time permits. If not
presented, medals and ribbons will be placed in your Club’s envelope, which will be given to coaches.
 In the event of an aggregate award tie, the winner will be decided by: a) the number of first placed
finishes each swimmer received, b) if still tied, duplicate medals will be awarded. In the event of
duplicate medals the next position will still reflect the number of swimmers placing higher. For
example if two swimmers tie for second, the next position is fourth and a bronze medal is not awarded.
