A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR THE COLLABORATIVE PROJECT. The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Public Instruction the sum of seven million one hundred sixty-three thousand three hundred five dollars ($7,163,305) for the 2010-2011 fiscal year to continue the implementation of the Focused Education Reform Pilot Program. The program, which is now known as the Collaborative Project, is administered by the Public School Forum of North Carolina in conjunction with the North Carolina Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education Center, Inc. Of these funds, the sum of two million three hundred forty-two thousand seven hundred five dollars ($2,342,705) shall be allocated to the Public School Forum of North Carolina for the continuation of the after-school programs, the continuation of the leadership development program for school administrators, food and lodging cost for the campus-based summer training, staff and consultants, and the administration and coordination of the pilot program. SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2009.
