Senior Reflections – Pat Chiarel
As this season comes to an end and my time at St. Joseph's comes winding down, I reflected on my time
here. This is my fourth year here and my third with the basketball team. This season has had its ups and its
downs but it was definitely a positive experience. I enjoyed being able to play ball again after not playing on a
team since grammar school. I guess I should start with the thank yous now so here it goes. I guess I should
start with Luke who sophomore year made me get on the team bus to go to their game as the manager
because Vinny Fila suits was missing. Since then I have only missed two games and have enjoyed it very
much. I miss the guys who have graduated ahead of me who were on the team including Shamek, Luke,
Olaskiewicz, Weeze, and even that midget Irv. You guys were a
bunch of clowns and I loved it. We had some good times. I would
also like to thank Brian Mahon who managed with me and was my
roommate that season. You should have come back you bum. I had
no one to zoom in on during time outs last year. I would like to
thank JT and Larry for all the rides home especially when I had no
other way cause the G and 7 trains were not running on many
weekends. Larry I still hate you though. Just kidding, but seriously. I
have to also thank the coaching staff for allowing me to be on the
team this year, the only year I tried out. Umm I would also like to
thank my parents for having me and putting up with me for all these years. I would also like to thank my golf
coach, Pugay, who gave me the heads up about this whole thing and is letting me hand this in late. You’re
the man Pugay. If I did not add you I am sorry. That does not mean I do not like you or you’re not
important, I just wrote this very quickly and very last minute. Although it may have meant that I did not like
you. Hahah. Lastly I would like to thank all the people who wasted the last minute of their life reading my
reflection. I apologize for not being able to give that time back.
P.S. – I always hated all nick names, especially Schmell and my alter ego Rusty... You made the cut Will...
