Glencairn Garden invited amateur photographers, young and old alike, to enter the  2011 Glimpses of Glencairn 
Photography Competition!  The winners, announced at the Members Appreciation Celebration and were 
displayed at BloomFest, Saturday, May 21, 2011 and then at the City Hall Rotunda Gallery for the month of June.

Area 11 Special Olympics Plays to Win!  
                                                     A bright and sunny morning at
                                                     Pinetuck Golf Course on May
                                                     19th was the place to be for the
                                                     Special Olympics 6th Annual Golf
                                                     Scramble. All proceeds from this captain’s choice
                                                     tournament will benefit over 1,000 Special Olympics
                                                     athletes from York, Chester and Lancaster counties.

                                                     Special Olympics is year-round sports training and
                                                     competition for athletes who are mentally disabled.
                                                     Area Eleven athletes have the opportunity to compete

South Carolina Olympians Go For The Gold!   
                                    A York County athlete won South Carolina's first gold medal
                                    during the Special Olympics 2011 World Summer Games in
                                    Athens, Greece.

                                    Pictured Left is Teresa Boehme who scored the gold in the four
                                    person bocce finals. Another York County resident, Emily
                                    Severance took fifth place in bowling doubles.
