Boys' Swimming - Zuponeck 7th & Poletto 9th at STATE – Congratulations to Jack Poletto for placing 9th in the 100
Butterfly and Jim Zuponeck for placing 7th in the 100 Breaststroke at the Boys' Swimming State Meet. Way to go Warriors!
Randy Mertes -WVHS Special Olympian-Takes The Polar Plunge - WVHS Junior student, Randy Mertes, will brave the icy
waters of Lake Bluff this Saturday, March 1st in support of Special Olympic Athletes like himself as he participates in the Special
Olympic Polar Plunge. His fundraising efforts have been successful in part due to the wonderful support of students and staff of
Waubonsie. Randy and his family thank all students and staff for their support. If you would like to know more about Special
Olympics visit Randy has a fundraising website at His target is to reach $1,500.00
in sponsorship, and he needs your help!

Metea Valley Principal Announced – Indian Prairie School District 204 officials named Jim Schmid as principal to lead the
opening of Metea Valley, the district's new high school, which is scheduled to open in 2009. Schmid currently serves as principal of

[Senior Class 2008] Senior Boat Cruise at Navy Pier- On Friday, May 23, WVHS seniors will have the opportunity to enjoy a Senior
Trip to go aboard the Spirit of Chicago boat cruise in downtown Chicago! Lunch and entertainment (including a live DJ and
dancing) will be provided on the boat. Cost is $60 for registration! (late registration $80)

Girls' Warrior Summer Basketball Camp (Class of 2012 - Class of 2009) - Anyone interested in being a part of the Girls'
basketball program is welcome to attend camp this summer. The camp will work on fundamental principles as well as introduce

Warrior Summer Softball Camp (Class of 2014 - Class of 2012) - Anyone in grades 6th - 8th is welcome to attend the
Warrior Softball Camp. The camp will focus on basic fundamentals and will help introduce the kids to our philosophy here at

Band Booster Craft Show March 15 th - Please come support the WVHS Band Boosters by attending the 3rd annual Spring
Craft Show. Crafters from the area will be displaying their items at the Gold Campus on Saturday, March 15th from 9:00 am until
3:00 p.m. If you have any questions, or would like to inquire about booth space, please don’t hesitate to contact Tammy Ward,

French Club Meeting - French Club will have its regular meeting on Tuesday, March 4, after school at the Green campus.
Please meet in Room 212 and we will head to the kitchen as a group. We will be making chocolate mousse as planning for the
combined language clubs' celebration during Foreign Language Week. Please bring one dollar to cover the cost of the chocolate

Parent Workshop - Where Do I Begin? Study and Organization Techniques - This seminar will give you resources, ideas and
practical techniques for students to use in order to stay organized, study efficiently and to prepare for exams and large pro jects.
This is the one and only seminar that students are invited to attend with an adult. Co-led by Sandy Krickeberg, Ed.D. Challenge

Parent Workshop - Taming the Tiger: Anger Management: Date/Time: 3/11/2008 (7:00:00 PM) WVHS Gold Campus - It is
inevitable that we will get angry at times, but how we manage our anger will determine if it is destructive or productive. Th is
seminar will focus on ways to manage our own anger as well as how to guide our children in managing theirs. Co -led by Lou

Mr. WVHS Competition! - The event of the season is nearly here! Waubonsie’s pageant for senior boys will take place March,
11 2008. Come to watch the exciting competition and crowning of Mr. WVHS from 7-9 pm in the Auditorium for only $3. In
