ABOUT US:
St. Anthony School Programs is an inclusive education program for students ages 5-21 with the primary
diagnosis of autism, Down syndrome and other developmental delays. Our program is open to children with
special needs of all faiths and is founded on the principle that acceptance, respect and dignity are as important to
the learning process as reading and writing. St. Anthony’s operates five elementary programs, two secondary
programs and a post-secondary program located on the Duquesne University campus. Certified special education
teachers offer a curriculum of academic studies, spiritual and moral formation, and daily living skills. Vocational
training is emphasized at the secondary and post-secondary levels. New this year will be an academic component
available to eligible post-secondary students who will have the
opportunity to participate in a college level social work class.
Our program emphasizes inclusion and allows each student to
participate in regular classes at the host school based on his/her
individual abilities. In addition to interacting with their peers in
the classroom, our students have the opportunity to participate in
all school sponsored activities and extracurricular sports and
clubs. Our staff works daily to help each student discover and
embrace his/her unique gifts as they grow academically, socially,
                                                   spiritually and vocationally.

OUR GOAL:
The St. Anthony Charitable Foundation has been charged with raising over
$800,000 for the upcoming school year. To reach our goal, we rely on our
generous supporters and fundraising events such as the Opportunity Award
Dinner. Money raised this year will support the students of St. Anthony
School Programs by funding things such as scholarships and tuition
assistance, classroom materials and special programs like the annual Summer
Camp. Won’t you please help us reach our goal? This packet outlines
sponsorship opportunities available to support the students of St. Anthony’s
through the Opportunity Award Dinner. Together we can help children with
special learning needs to have the education they need to live life to its fullest
potential.

PAST RECIPIENTS OF THE OPPORTUNITY AWARD
The model for inclusion is Jesus Christ. He sought out those who were excluded, ignored and devalued. He
gave them hope, friendship and dignity. The recipients of the Opportunity Award have followed this example by
making room in their lives and the world for children with special needs. Because of their efforts, opportunities
exist where there once were none. Each year the St. Anthony Dinner Committee works diligently to seek out
individuals and organizations who are leaders in creating opportunities for our children, and publicly
recognize and honor them for their outstanding efforts. Congratulations to our past award winners:
