HOPE FOR HEROES & DISASTER FUND
Happy New Year & WAY TO GO INDIANA ESA! The Hope for Heroes Challenge was
successful again this year thanks to all of you who are so caring and supportive. I would loved to
have been a little bird flying around to all the cities to see the faces of the veterans, active duty
military, and families that were recipients of all your projects during the Veterans Week
Challenge for our Hope for Heroes Programs. Please send me notes, copies of newspaper
articles, pictures, and e-mails or letters you received from those that were fortunate to be the
receivers of your generous patriotism. I would like to share these with the membership. I know
that some of you did things for Christmas for the families and I want to hear all about those
events and see those pictures, too. Remember, Hope For Heroes is an ongoing project that
doesn't stop at the end of this challenge. Our deployed military, their families, our homeless
vets, and the vets in nursing homes and VA hospitals need our support, prayers, and visits all
year long. Keep on doing what you do best….Giving and Being of Service! You are awesome!
Reminder: Please continue to collect your loose change in the treasure chest box you received
at Leadership/Fall Conference, or other container of choice, for the Disaster Fund. Looking
forward to seeing what the chapters have collected for the Disaster Fund. This is the fund that
helps our members that are in need.
May your lives be blessed with love and joy.

Educational Director-Tammy Bryant
I really am enjoying reading the many educational reports and hope I will be able to highlight
all. This month I am featuring Delta Kappa's Elizabeth Adkins and her theme
Healthy Living. Elizabeth is teaching our chapter ways to improve our lifestyles by eating better
and making healthy choices. One of our meetings we took a field to trip
to St. Francis Hospital and enjoyed a Healthy Lifestyle class. We have also learned about the
tremendous calories in fast food. Thanks Elizabeth for a great job so far.
