									              FELLOW IN CHILD & ADOLSCENT PSYCHIATRY
                            Full time position

The Position
This position is for those intending to complete a higher training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. All
of the necessary clinical experience is available at the Royal Children’s Hospital to complete the training:
Adolescent in Patient Psychiatry, Community Team Psychiatry, Consultation & Liaison Psychiatry,
Infant Mental Health, and Research in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

The Royal Children’s Hospital Mental Health Service provides specialist child and adolescent psychiatry
services for the Western Metropolitan Region. In addition it provides a Specialist Consultation & Liaison
Service for the Royal Children’s Hospital at Parkville. There are strong links with paediatrics, the Centre
for Adolescent Health, and the Infant Mental Health Programme.

The successful applicant would be expected to attend the two week orientation and training course, which
is provided at the commencement of each six month rotation. There is a weekly training programme:
journal club, case presentations, seminars, and supervision of family therapy and individual therapy. The
Fellow would also have day release to attend the approved training at Mindful. These positions provide
an excellent opportunity for training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in a well-supervised and well-
supported environment.

Qualifications
It is recommended that these applying for this higher training have completed their training in Adult
Psychiatry or Paediatrics.

Salary in accordance with award and level, or by negotiation. Employer superannuation and salary
packaging available.

Duration
One year from February 2008
