    Background information
    The Fairfield Communities for Children site covers the western Sydney suburbs of Fairfield, Fairfield Heights,
    Fairfield West and Fairfield East. The total population of the site is 33,202 people; including 2,860 children aged
    0-5 (8.7%). More than half (17,400) of the residents are from non-English speaking backgrounds and a relatively
    small number of residents are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. The leadership and coordination for
    the AEDI project was undertaken by The Smith Family. The following table provides summary information about
    the AEDI in the Fairfield area.
