Position:          Improver Plumber

Job Description:   The post holder reports on a day-to-day basis to the Inn’s Lead
                   Plumber who reports to the M & E Engineer who is the Head of
                   a Mechanical and Electrical section within the Inner Temple’s
                   Surveyor’s Office.

                   The main emphasis of the post is to assist the Lead Plumber on
                   maintenance and small installation works where required.


Profile:           The person action in this role will need to carry out the
                   following principal duties:

                      As the Improver Plumber the successful candidate’s duties
                       include maintenance and installation tasks relating to the
                       Plumbing ‘Defect Work’ generated by Tenants and
                       Residents of the Inn as instructed by the Lead Plumber
                      To be the Improver Plumber on general Heating, Plumbing,
                       Ventilation and Drainage maintenance and testing as
                       directed by the Lead Plumber
                      To be the Improver Plumber on general lead and copper
                       roof works and rainwater drainage systems as directed by
                       the Lead Plumber
                      To be the Improver Plumber on general minor works as
                       directed by the Lead Plumber
                      To liaise with design teams and contractors on specialist
                       servicing, maintenance and larger type project works as
                       directed
                      To monitor and manage the Inn’s plumbing stores including
                       general plumbing sundries and air filtration system
                       replacements
                      To change air handling plant filters and drive belts and keep
                       a stock control register to monitor and keep appropriate
                       stock levels
                      To act as security attendance during site visits by
                       contractors and external consultants
                      To attend any relevant technical courses deemed necessary
                       by the M & E Engineer to cover the tasks and
                       responsibilities required by the post
