DESCRIPTIONS OF POSITIONS I. BOARD MEMBERS All Board members will meet regularly and work together to run the program smoothly and effectively. All Board members will interview prospective fellows, attend curriculum meetings, supervise a small group of fellows and maintain a relationship with classroom teachers for oversight purposes, assist with tournament preparation, and accomplish necessary tasks as they arise. PROGRAM DIRECTOR The Program Director is directly responsible for overseeing the entire Marshall Brennan program. Particular responsibilities include: maintaining ongoing working relationship with TPIC; developing relationships with school administrators; sending information packets to schools in May for the following year; meeting with school principals during the summer; coordinating with Drexel program, primarily through TPIC; overseeing the Board and planning meetings; coordinating security and background checks for all fellows; assigning fellows to groups that are overseen by board members. CURRICULUM DIRECTOR The Curriculum Director is responsible for maintaining, updating, and disseminating all of the curricular information about the program. Particular responsibilities include: teaching as a fellow in a Marshall Brennan class as necessary; setting up curriculum and teacher training meetings for all fellows and finding professors to lead them; developing new lesson plans and updating existing lesson plans as the law changes; regularly sending lesson plans to fellows; Preparing tournament curriculum, to include: finding an expert faculty member to lead a meeting for fellows to discuss the competition problem. TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR The Tournament Director is responsible for all of the administrative and logistical aspects of preparation for the Philadelphia city-wide competition and the national competition in Washington, DC. The bulk of this work will take place between January and March. Particular responsibilities include: organizing caterers; recruiting students, attorneys, and judges to act as scorers, bailiffs, and judges; securing rooms;

registering student competitors; finding awards and certificates; and coordinating with Drexel through TPIC. Also responsible for the maintenance of the Marshall Brennan website.
TEACHING DIRECTOR The Teaching Director is responsible for matching fellows and placing them in appropriate schools. Particular responsibilities include: recruiting fellows over the summer and at the beginning of the school year; meeting with school principals over the summer; coordinating interviews for all prospective fellows, and delegating the interviews to board members; matching fellows; placing fellows in schools; making periodic site visits. II. CHAIR POSITIONS Chair positions require a much smaller time commitment. Chairs are not expected to attend Board meetings. FUNDRAISING CHAIR The Fundraising Chair is responsible for pursuing grant funding for Marshall Brennan.
