  – Facilitate access to intellectual property resources in
    native languages
  – Manage quality, timeliness and protection of translated
    works

• Translations of select materials into select
  languages
• Translations based on approved business case
• Funding options
• Assistance program for chapters $$$

  Korean and Japanese as part of the three
  year pilot program
 Chapter-level Translations


• Initiated by chapters based on local demand
  – Frameworks (COBIT, Val IT, ITAF, Risk IT)—Type 1
  – Guidance and techniques, Journal articles—Type 2
  – Marketing materials—Type 3
Business Case


• Identify local demand
• Identify available of resources
  – Team of volunteers to manage project
  – Sponsors for funding
  – Translation vendors
• Identify costs and return on investment
Funding Options

•   ISACA International Headquarters
•   Chapter(s)
•   Third-party sponsorship
•   Donations (e.g. university)
Translation Assistance

• Funding to help with costs of translations
• Approved business case required
• Criteria for assistance: strategic criticality, length
  and complexity of work
• Maximum funds available: US$10,000/year
Distribution, Sales and
Royalties
• Distribution can be through ISACA web
  site/bookstore or local chapter
• Chapter-funded/locally created translations
  – Sold by local chapters and/or ISACA Bookstore
  – PDF downloads from chapter web sites, ISACA/ITGI web
    sites
• Royalties
  – 15 percent royalties on sales
General Translation
Requirements

•   License agreements required
•   Complete, faithful translation of English version
•   Quality assurance process
•   Validation by ISACA members
