ICT in English – Key Stage 3
ICT in English can help pupils to:
talk, read and write for a range of purposes
organise and present information in a variety of forms
broaden the range of audiences for their work
identify key characteristics and features of text
develop understanding of language and critical literacy
Today’s technologies encompass more than print and book-based media. Texts may also be electronically generated, for example through word processors and desktop publishing
packages, and use resources, which may include electronic sources of information such as CD-ROM and the Internet. BECTa (http://curriculum.becta.org.uk)
