The Problem

Two masses are connected in series as
shown with springs and dampers. With a
force, the displacement, velocity and
momentum of each block is desired as a
function of time.
Given Values

K1 = 40
B1 = 3
M1 = 2
K2 = 60
B2 = 4
M2 = 2
F = 1
Process
CampG software was used to create a
bond graph model of the system in
Mullen.bg.
The software converts the model into
several Matlab .m files for analysis.
The given values were placed into the
campgmod.m file.
The result over 10 seconds are shown in
Figure 1 and 2.

Results

Figure 1 shows that the momentum of
both blocks slowly reaches zero by about
10 seconds
The displacement of block 1 settles at
about .025 m after just over 10 seconds,
and block 2 is displaced .016 m after just
over 10 seconds.
