in my breast about 10 days ago, saw my gyn, had a (Specify pink or black if ordering the Kickin’ Cancer buckle.)
diag mamo and ultra sound, then a bx, then saw Dr
Murley in the breast center last Wed. I have been
diagnosed with "high-grade ductal carcinoma in situ". The good news is that it Sponsor’s Name Amount Collected
is curable!!! I had an MRI Fri AM, now I will see Dr Murley again Wed to see if
anything is added to my diagnosis at hand. Right now the tentative plan would 1
be to have a lumpectomy then radiation. She will ck my lymph nodes and
margins in surgery. If all is neg, then this course of treatment would remain. If 2
there are pos lymph nodes or unclear margins, then we would add chemo. I am
also meeting with the genetic counselor next wed for genetic testing to see if I 3
have the mutation. If I do carry the genetic mutation, then that changes things
for me. I will then elect to have a double mastectomy which I am perfectly fine
with.(free boob job!) My biggest concern is for my girls. I do want them to have 5
babies one day and breast feed them and grow old with them. The results of the
genetic test will not be available for several weeks, after I will have already had 6
my initial surgery. So if the genetic test comes back pos then I would return to
surgery for the mast. If the genetic test is neg, then my girls and my sisters and 7
my nieces will not have to be tested! Sooooo I really think I am going to be just
fine. I will keep you updated. Thanks for your friendship, love, and support! I 8
love you guys and plan on spending many more fun times together.
We are happy to report that Lisa does not carry the gene and she has 10
successfully completed all her treatment! She “Got ‘er Done!”
