OIT Labs SFTP Instructions (Remote Access) ‐ Windows You can access your network storage folder through SFTP. User data is not backed up locally on lab computers. It is recommended that you backup files on media such as CDs or USB Flash Drives, or by emailing them to yourself. You can also store files in your network storage folder (which has a 20 megabyte limit) and access them from home. NOTE: Files kept in network storage folders will be deleted every August. To access your network storage folder from home, you must first download and install a free SFTP client at http://winscp.sourceforge.net/eng/download.php. Then follow the procedures below. 1. Click on the “Start Menu” and select “Programs” ‐> “WinSCP3” ‐> “WinSCP”. 2. Enter your information on the Login window: a. Host name is 188.8.131.52 b. Port number is 22 c. User name is your myCSUSTAN User ID (example: jdoe) d. Password is your myCSUSTAN password e. Click on “Login” 3. You will be asked to cache the host key in your registry. This is to ensure a secure connection between your computer and the Secure FTP server. Click “Yes”! 4. The following screen will appear. To access your files, double click on the “Student Storage” folder icon located on the right pane.
