Lotus GT Racing: 50 years On Track

A succession of innovative and stylish Lotus road cars have provided a strong platform for GT sports
car racing. Starting with the Type 14 Le Mans class winning Elite of the 1960s, progressing via the
Elan to the Type 47 racing Europa and onto the championship winning Esprit Type 106 of the 1990s.
The racing DNA of Lotus was used again to create the award winning Exige and 2-Eleven models
currently dominating the Clubsport scene across the world.

Lotus Evora Road Car


The multi award winning Lotus Evora is the latest GT sports car to be developed by Lotus and is
equipped with the following key features:

•    The world’s only mid-engined 2+2 production sports car
•    Powered by a Toyota normally aspirated V6 engine
•    Ride, handling and performance expected of a Lotus (0-100 km/h in 5.1 secs)

Lotus Evora Cup Race Car


A new racing chapter can now begin and Lotus Motorsport, the racing division of Group Lotus, introduces the new
Lotus Evora Cup race car.

The Evora Cup race car is developed from the award winning Evora road car and is engineered to give teams and
drivers a competitive package, homologated for GT4 but also eligible for a new manufacturer Cup Series promoted and
operated by Lotus Motorsport.

For those competitors with endurance racing aspirations, an Endurance version of the Cup car is also available with a
range of extra upgrades designed specifically for long distance racing.

Development Programme


  Lotus Motorsport is conducting an extensive development program for the Evora Cup race car, with the assistance of
  Jarno Trulli, his Race Engineer, Gianluca Pisanello and respected motorsport engineering companies such as Dallara
  (bodywork), Cosworth (engine) and CIMA (transmission).
  The first shakedown was at Snetterton Circuit, UK, where Jarno provided some fantastic feedback “I believe that the
  Evora Cup will be a very competitive race car package. The car will continue to be developed with new updates
  coming soon, but even after the initial drive it is obvious that the car has huge potential. I look forward to working with
  Lotus Motorsport in developing the car further and I know that my years of motorsport experience will help make the
  Evora Cup race car even better.”

Introducing the Lotus Evora Cup Series


The Lotus Evora Cup Series has been developed to provide an additional racing platform for customers who have
purchased an Evora Cup race car or Endurance car.
There is only one objective of the Cup Series: To determine the leading Evora racer/team in Europe!
All customers who purchase an Evora Cup race car or Endurance car are eligible to enter the Cup Series
The Cup Series in 2010 is comprised of two sections.

Section 1
•Customers who race their Evora Cup or Endurance car in any nominated eligible race championship / series during
2010 can claim points for classification and finishing positions to carry forward to the second section of the Cup Series.

Section 2
•Drivers/Teams may then enter their own cars in Lotus ‘festival races’ competing against other Evora Cup cars drawn
from other championships across Europe. All cars will race on the same grid.
•The winner of the Evora Cup Series 2010 and the title of leading Evora driver/team will be the driver/team with the
most points from the combined scores of section 1 and 2.

Section 1 - Eligible Championships

Other race championships may be added to the above list at the discretion of Lotus Motorsport

Customers must register with Lotus Motorsport for the Evora Cup Series prior to entry into the above championships to
be eligible to gain points in section 1.

Section 2 - Festival Race Weekend
Format - 2010

The Evora Cup Series will culminate with two Lotus Festivals, outlined below. All Evora competing for
the Evora Cup Series will race on the same grid.

•    Donington Park, UK – 16th & 17th October 2010
     1 x 120 minute race

•    Vallelunga, Italy – 20th & 21st November 2010
     2 x 50 minute races

For 2011 Lotus Motorsport intend a full Cup Series for Europe with races at key European circuits,
further details to follow.

Competitors will be required to run Evora Cup Series sponsor decals on the windscreen, door panels
and wheel arches. Any technical supplier decals supplied with the car must be retained for festival
races. The balance of the car is free for driver/team sponsors.

Race dates, venues and durations for 2010 are provisional and may be subject to change

Lotus Evora Cup Series - Entry Fees


All competitors must register with Lotus Motorsport upon receipt of their race car to be eligible
to compete in the Evora Cup Series.

There are no entry fees payable to Lotus for races in section 1 of the Evora Cup Series

An entry fee of €3700 per car is required for each Lotus festival race weekend in section 2,
which covers the following:
•Race and administration fees
•2 sets of slick and 1 set of wet tyres per car, per Lotus Festival race weekend
•Free practice session during the weekend, minimum of 40 minutes
•Transponder
•2 passes (driver + one guest) to the Lotus hospitality centre covering 2 x lunches, 1 x dinner
and complimentary drinks from the bar
•2 x vehicle access passes
•Presentation of the driver, team & key sponsors on www.lotusevoracup.com website
•Access to images from the official photographer
•Access to Lotus factory technical support and sale of spare parts during the race weekend
•Discounts available for extra hospitality packages, please enquire

Eligible Cars for Lotus Evora Cup Series


Cars admitted to the Lotus Evora Cup Series will be placed in two different classes depending on
which factory specification each car entry was built to by Lotus Motorsport.

•    GT4 class
     Power circa:          400ps
     Weight circa:         1200kgs
     Power to weight:      3kg/ps

•    Endurance class
     Power circa:          450ps
     Weight circa:         1230kgs
     Power to weight:      2.7kg/ps




Standard road Evora cars are not eligible to compete in the Evora Cup Series. Both classes are
subject to change and entered cars must fully comply with the published technical regulations. Factory
VIP cars may be entered but will not be points scoring.

Driver Eligibility & 2010 Points System –
Section 1

The Evora Cup Series is open to all drivers with an International Racing Licence Type, A, B or C valid
for the current year.

The Evora Cup Series can be entered as single driver or as a twin driver crew. There will be a drivers
championship and a team championship.

Customers who enter National or International races (section 1 of the Cup Series) will be awarded 5
points upon classified result, providing race results are lodged with Lotus Motorsport within 48 hours of
race completion.

Per race entered and classified result, each driver/car combination will be awarded additional
points as follows.

Leading Evora:             5 points
2nd place Evora:           3 points
3rd place Evora:           2 points
Bonus points apply for selected endurance events.

The driver/car combination accrue these points over their season up to a maximum of 30 points
(capped) for Section 1 and count towards the Section 2, Lotus Festival races.

Prize money is only awarded to those participating in the Lotus Festival races.

Awarding of Titles:
Lotus Festival, Donington Park
16th/17th October 2010
  •   Lotus Festival round 1, Donington Park 1 x 2 hr race (Double points scoring round)

  •   10 points awarded per driver/car combination, upon confirmed classification then scoring and prize money as
      follows. Prize money awarded to the team responsible for car entry.

  •   1st place in each class:            €5,000 + 10 bonus points +Trophy
  •   2nd place in each class:            €2,500 + 6 bonus points + Trophy
  •   3rd place in each class:            €1,250 + 4 bonus points + Trophy
  •   4th place in each class:            3 bonus points + Trophy
  •   5th place in each class:            2 bonus points + Trophy
  •   6th place in each class:            1 bonus point + Trophy

  •   Example: The class winning Evora GT4 & Evora Endurance car will each gain 20 points towards the overall
      championship. 2nd placed cars will be awarded 16 points etc.

  •   All drivers will receive a trophy.
  •   A prize will be awarded for drivers who record the fastest lap in each class.

20th/21st November 2010
 Lotus Festival round 2, Vallelunga 2 x 50 mins (Double points scoring rounds)

 Prize money awarded to the team reponsible for car entry.

 •1st place in each class:   €5,000 + 10 bonus points + Trophy
 •2nd place in each class:   €2,500 + 6 bonus points + Trophy
 •3rd place in each class:   €1,250 + 4 bonus points + Trophy
 •4th place in each class:   3 bonus points + Trophy
 •5th place in each class:   2 bonus points + Trophy
 •6th place in each class:   1 bonus point + Trophy

 Example: The class winning Evora GT4 & Evora Endurance car will each gain 20 points towards the overall

 For the TEAM that scores the most points overall in the Cup Series the following prize will be given
 Lotus Evora Special Edition + overall Winner Trophy.
