Landell Mills invites candidates to apply for the position of Senior Project Executive within
the Asia/Pacific Division. The Senior Project Executive will report to the Asia/Pacific
Director. The position will be based in Trowbridge, near the World Heritage city of Bath, in
SW England. Although the majority of time will be spent in Trowbridge, the job will require
intermittent travel to the Asia/Pacific region.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties will be as follows (non-exhaustive):
1. To take responsibility, for a number of currently contracted projects in the
Asia/Pacific region (most probably including a DFID M4P Challenge Fund and a
food safety project), ensuring that:
International and local staff are providing high quality technical inputs to the

Clients are kept informed of significant developments and are satisfied with
Any contract extension opportunities are actively pursued.
2. To take the lead in business development for a pipeline of projects involving:
The identification of opportunities.
Once opportunities are identified, assess the requirements of the donor/client
seeking assistance and the objectives of the assignment, in order to put the
company in the best position for winning any eventual tender;
The preparation of qualification documents (expressions of interest...);
The preparation of tender dossiers, including technical methodology, staffing,
work programmes etc. In preparing the methodology the executive will need to
undertake research on the subject in question, identify the problems which the
project will address, formulate solutions, and then prepare a plan of action for
implementing such solutions.
Establishing networks of contacts in the region.
3. To liaise with other divisions in the company so as to exchange information, leads,
approaches, technology etc and to ensure that the company develops a coherent
image in the market place and a consistent approach to clients. A pro-active stance
will be taken in helping the company to identify shortcomings in its strategy,
policies, procurement, marketing, IT facilities, organisational structure and methods
and proposing improvements to these.
4. To carry out technical, fee paid assignments on behalf of the company as
appropriate and as agreed with company management.

Support will be provided to the Senior Project Executive in business development and in
the management of projects, by a Junior Project Executive and a Project Administrative
and Finance Assistant.
The current project portfolio which the executive will take over is likely to include projects
in Afghanistan (hence some travel there will be required) as well as Vietnam, and possibly
Papua New Guinea. Future projects could be anywhere in the Asia/Pacific region.
We are looking for candidates that meet the following profile:
At least 5 years previous experience in tendering for and managing projects
financed by international funding agencies. Can provide evidence of having
developed a minimum of 2-3 technical and financial proposals in projects financed
by international funding agencies (preferably EC, DFID, World Bank and AsDB);
Minimum 5 years' experience working as in-house staff in consulting companies on
business development and project management;
Multiple country work experience in developing countries;
Some technical experience in one or more of the technical areas mentioned above
would be preferred.
A university degree
Excellent attention to detail and capacity to present high quality work;
Ability to negotiate with consultants and the Client (to obtain good rates, changes in
Terms of Reference, extension of budgets) and to work and liaise with them and
senior project staff;
Be comfortable in working in a busy and sometimes stressful environment;
Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills;
Ability to handle multiple projects within time/budget restraints;
Fluency in written and spoken English;
Computer literacy (especially Excel and Word).
Due to UK visa restrictions EU nationalities will be favoured.
