Testing starts Tuesday, March 31st. Last day of testing is Monday, April 6th. Get a good night’s sleep! Eat a healthy breakfast! Get to school on time! Bring a dictionary (3/31 only) Bring a thesaurus (3/31 only) Relax and do your best!

Things to bring with you each day of testing: A healthy snack, a bottle of water, a #2 pencil, a book to read and a positive attitude! What if I am absent? If you miss any part(s) of the test, you will be pulled from your classes on a following day to make up the missed part(s). Reminder: If you are tardy on any day, you are considered absent and CANNOT interrupt the testing classes; you will remain in the office until the end of testing!
NATIONAL GEO BEE
Our very own Eric Jones (8th grade) will be representing Santan JH at the regional finals of the National Geographic Geography Bee. He won his team bee, the school bee, and passed the written examination! This is a great achievement! The regional bee is April 3rd at ASU. Please wish him well!
4th QUARTER ATHLETIC INFO
Our 4th quarter is fast approaching. Are you interested in playing in our Girls Softball team, Boys Volleyball, or Track and Field? 4th Qtr sport try-outs will start Wednesday, March 25th and continue through Monday, March 30th. Don’t be left out!! Be sure you turn in your physical packets, they are now available on our website. 4th Quarter Sports Pictures are scheduled for Thursday, April 2nd. Sports Banquet is scheduled for Thursday, May 21st at 6:30 pm.
MATHCOUNTS
The Santan Jr. High MATHCOUNTS team placed second in the state competition held in Tucson March 14th. Team members competing were Alfred Xue, Charles Zhao, Alyssa Sedgwick, and Lindsey Chew. Alfred Xue took first place individually in the state competition and will be competing as part of the Arizona team in the national MATHCOUNTS competition in Orlando this May.
SJHS CHEERLEADERS
The Santan cheerleaders competed at the Arizona State Cheer competition on March 6th at the Veteran's Memorial Coliseum. They earned a first place title in the Large Show Cheer division, holding their state title for four years in a row! The 2008-2009 Santan cheerleaders are Delaney Ahern, Lexi Avant, Amanda Biggers, Kaylie Burke, Alyssa Chervin, Kyla Chouinard, Sarah Cunningham, Delaney Douglas, Bridgette Engle, Macy Hall, Madison Hartman, Kaitlyn Hartwig, Jennifer Horton, Libby Kuszjewski, Brooke Lewis, Miranda Maldonado, Becca McGill, Kalin Nehrenz, Jourdan Roth, Kelsy Pack, Angie Shearon, Brittani Sikorsky, Meagan Silva, BreeAnn Smith, Danielle Stegina, Courtney Toburen, Lindsay Williams, and Taylor Williams. Five members of the Santan cheer team also participated in the division of All Girl Stunt group and took first place in that division. The stunt group consisted of Lexi Avant, Delaney Ahern, Amanda Biggers, Kyla Chouinard, and Brooke Lewis.

Megan was one of 1600 plus teens that originally applied for a preliminary spot and in her age catergory there were approximately 160 that made it to the final event this past weekend. Out of the 160 that were competing, Megan made the top 10 finalist! Congratulations Megan!!!
