A collaborative group of individuals with lived low-income experience,
looking to bring the voice of the low-income community into the arena of
poverty prevention and reduction.

The Regional Municipality of Waterloo is considering
implementing a Living Wage policy for its employees and
contractors.

poverty elimination plan that works with the provincial plans (see petition on

– October 17 – International day for the Eradication of Poverty
– 173,045,325 citizens gathered at over 3,000 events in more than 120
countries demanding that their government eradicate extreme poverty
(certified by the Guinness World Records as the new world record and
remains the largest mobilization of human beings in recorded history.
• Members of the Human Resources Committee of the House of Commons
were contacted in support of Tony Martin's motion for a federal strategy
to eliminate poverty. Tony's tabled his motion on November 3 and it will be
discussed at the next meeting of the committee on November 17. We
heard that MPs on the committee received many phone calls and e-mails in
support of the motion.
