WHEN: Statistics in Venues Today are based on ticket sales from Oct. 16, 2007 through
May 15, 2008. Statistics in Billboard are based on ticket sales from Nov. 14,
2007 through May 13, 2008. Statistics in Pollstar are based on ticket sales
from Jan. 1 through June 30, 2008. Because of the variety of publications’
reporting criteria, the rankings vary.
DETAILS: Venues Today magazine ranked the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center’s
Carol Morsani Hall first in overall ticket sales for venues with 5,000 seats
or less worldwide in their July 2008 mid-year issue. With sales of more
than $18 million, Morsani Hall bested such venues as New York’s Beacon
Theater and the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. Billboard
(July 26, 2008 issue) magazine ranked Carol Morsani Hall second, citing
attendance of nearly 286,000. Pollstar (July 21, 2008 issue) ranked
TBPAC’s Morsani Hall third in worldwide mid-year sales, outpacing,
among others, all venues of its size in Florida.
