                                      MINUTES

                       REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

                           MONDAY, DECEMBER 20, 2010


The meeting was called to order by President Schulz at 6:00 p.m. Members present
were Randy Gilner, Gisela Hamm, Robert McClyman, Jim Rodwell, David Schulz,
Steven Smith and Jesse Weaver.

Motion by Jim Rodwell and second by Gisela Hamm to approve the agenda. Motion
carried.

President Schulz announced that the School Board may go into closed session
pursuant to section 19.85 (1) subparagraph (c) of Wisconsin Statutes.

Motion by Gisela Hamm and second by Jim Rodwell to adjourn to closed session,
pursuant to Wisconsin Statute 19.85 (1) (c) considering employment, promotion,
compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the
governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. A roll call vote was
taken. (7 yes votes: Randy Gilner, Gisela Hamm, Robert McClyman, Jim Rodwell,
David Schulz, Steven Smith and Jesse Weaver.) Motion carried.

The purpose of the closed session was to discuss the performance of the WDHS
Activities Director/Associate Principal.

Motion by Randy Gilner and second by Jesse Weaver to reconvene into open session.
Motion carried.

President Schulz announced that the school board meeting was being tape recorded.

Motion by Gisela Hamm and second by Robert McClyman to approve the regular school
board meeting minutes of November 15, 2010, special school board meeting minutes of
November 17, 2010, special school board meeting minutes of November 29, 2010,
special school board meeting minutes of December 7, 2010 and special school board
meeting minutes of December 8, 2010. Motion carried.

There were no comments from the public during the public comment/general subject
matter discussion item on the agenda.
Motion by Gisela Hamm and second by Randy Gilner to approve the Lease/Purchase of
the 907 Vine Street house, as recommended by the Buildings and
Grounds/Transportation/ Food Service Committee. Motion carried.

Verbal and or written reports/goals were presented by Charles Whitsell, Randy Kuhnau,
Carol Coughlin, Shannon Statz, Jerry Nicholson, Brian Grove, Paul Stieber and Teresa
Regel.

There was a written report on current and upcoming student activities provided by
Student School Board Representative, Sydney Flock.

Chairperson Jim Rodwell reported on the Building and Grounds/Transportation/Food
Service Committee meetings of December 1, 2010, December 13, 2010, and December
20, 2010.

Business Manager Deb Michel updated the Board regarding the District’s budget and
ability to maintain current educational programs and services under revenue limits.

The District Actuarial Study of Post Employment Benefits was discussed.

Motion by Gisela Hamm and second by Randy Gilner to accept the following
resignations:
    a) WDHS – Assistant Football Coach, Robert Buss, effective November 16, 2010.
    b) SHMS – Assistant Girls’ Basketball Coach, James Reynolds.
Motion carried.

Motion by Gisela Hamm and second by Jesse Weaver to accept with regret the
resignation of Charles Whitsell as District Administrator, effective June 30, 2010.
Motion carried.

Motion by Steven Smith and second by Jesse Weaver to approve a request by Brian
Kenney to take power lifters who qualify to compete at the National Power Lifting
Championships to Corpus Christi, TX. Motion carried.

Motion by Jesse Weaver and second by Jim Rodwell to approve the following individual
for the overload contract specified:
   a) Jesus Arellano for an 18-week skinny for ELL tutoring.
Motion carried.

Motion by Gisela Hamm and second by Jim Rodwell to approve the following individuals
for the specified co-curricular assignments for 2010-2011:
    Sarah Swearingen         WDHS – Basketball Cheer Coach
    James Reynolds           SHMS – Head 7th Grade Girls’ Basketball Coach
    Amanda Glime             SHMS – Assistant Girls’ Basketball Coach
and the following individuals for the specified co-curricular assignments for 2011-2012:
   George Baglione          WDHS- Head Football Coach
   Malachi Mishler          WDHS – Assistant Football Coach
   Troy Nelson              WDHS – Assistant Football Coach
   Travis Hartman           WDHS – Assistant Football Coach

Motion carried.

The 2009-2010 Financial Audit Report was reviewed and discussed.

Motion by Jesse Weaver and second by Jim Rodwell to endorse the Principals’
proposal to add Poynette, Lodi and Columbus to the South Central Conference,
effective with the 2013-2014 school year. Motion carried.

The Board directed the District’s delegate to the Delegate Assembly, Mr. Schulz, to
consider their opinions, listen to and participate in discussion that takes place on the
floor of the delegate assembly and to vote on these resolutions, any amendments or
additional resolutions that come to the floor in a manner that best serves the interests of
the School District of Wisconsin Dells and its students.

Motion by Jim Rodwell and second by Steven Smith to give prior approval to the
following generous donation over $2,500.00 per the Donations and Bequests Policy
(840.0):
   The VanWie Foundation would like to donate $10,000 to the Business Education
   Department at Wisconsin Dells High School to be used for the following acquisitions:
   a.   Microsoft Publisher 2010                          (25 licenses @ $425)
   b.   Microsoft Office, Excel, Word & Access          (65 licenses @ $3,120)
   c.   Adobe Dreamweaver                               (25 licenses @ $2,625)
   d.   Adobe Dreamweaver Windows Media                        (1 license @ $24)
   e.   Chairs for Business Education classrooms                   (35 @ $1,890)
   f.   Cameras for WDTV:
           1) Sony Handycam Camera                                   (3 @ $1,005)
           2) Sony VRD_MC6DVDIRECT                                     (1 @ $199)
           3) Sony Travel Charger                                       (2 @ $90)
           4) Sony Handycam accessory kit w/extra battery              (3 @ $315)
           5) Bogen tripod for cameras                                 (2 @ $286)

Motion carried.

Motion by Robert McClyman and second by Randy Gilner to accept/acknowledge the
following donations:
       a) $866.46 from Tracy Cimaroli to WDHS Dance Team for Hip Hop Uniforms;
       b) $450.00 scholarship grant from Madison Jazz Society to the School District of
           Wisconsin Dells Jazz Ensemble for purchasing music for middle school and
           high school jazz ensembles and 10 free CD’s from the Madison Jazz Society
           library to establish a listening library at Wisconsin Dells High School;
       c) $750.00 from Exxon Mobil to Spring School Middle School for the BUMPS
           Program;
       d) $75.00 from Spring Brook (DarMor) to WDHS for Football Cheerleading;
       e) $100.00 from the Amateur Softball Association to WDHS as a donation to the
           Athletic Department; and
       f) Middle School Wrestling Singlets valued at $2,080.00 to the Wisconsin Dells
           Wrestling Team for the middle school.

   Total For The Regular December Board Meeting: $14,321.46

  TOTAL FOR 2010-11 SCHOOL YEAR: $65,630.37
Motion carried.

Motion by Randy Gilner and second by Steven Smith to approve the December
treasurer’s report and disbursements in the amount of $1,106,913.13 including Fund 10
wire transfers, Fund 10 check numbers 083139-083372,Fund 10 manual check
numbers 003872-003883, and voided check number 083131. Motion carried.

Motion by Jim Rodwell and second by Steven Smith to adjourn. Motion carried.

President Schulz adjourned the meeting at 8:00 p.m.
