Participants were asked to state the Health Board in which they provided NHSScotland services for most of each week. Some dentists may work in more than one Health Board. Where the Health Board was not indicated, the participant was allocated to the appropriate Health Board on the basis of his/her registered address. Specialities are defined by the General Dental Council, with the addition of ‘Special Needs’ which is not currently recognised by the General Dental Council.
