Away From Home: St. Ambrose has a 41-17 record on the road dating back to
the 2000 season, including a 1-0 mark this season after a 17-9 win at Trinity
International to open the year. Last year, SAU was 3-2 away from home.

Defense Making Its Mark: Through two games, the St. Ambrose defense is
among the nation’s best in several categories. The Bees lead the NAIA in passing
defense (giving up 53.5 yards through the air per game), pass defense efficiency
(45.2) and opponent third-down conversion (3-of-26, 11.5 percent). SAU is also
sixth in scoring defense (8.0 points per game) and 11th in total defense (212.0
                                           yards per game).

Coming Out Strong: St. Ambrose has moved the ball well coming out of the
lockerroom. The Bees threw a 55-yard touchdown pass on their first play from
scrimmage at Trinity International and marched the ball 54 yards down to the
Malone 17-yard line to open the game last week before an interception thwarted
the drive. SAU has been even better in the second half, scoring on both of their
initial drives after halftime. Against Trinity, St. Ambrose covered 70 yards in seven
plays on a touchdown drive, and against Malone, SAU marched 76 yards in 15
                                           plays for a TD.

Controlling the Ball: St. Ambrose had the ball for 37:36 against Malone last
week. That is the most time of possession the Bees have had in a game since
Oct. 11, 2003, when the bees held the ball for 38:30 in a 50-7 win vs. St. Francis, Ill.
SAU had not had more than 37 minutes of possession time in a game since
doing it back-to-back in the 2005 season (37:23 in a 35-3 win vs. St. Francis on
Oct. 1 and 37:03 in a 40-18 win at Trinity International on Oct. 8).
