COMPETITION
This initiative of the World Summit Secretariat
has been aimed at generating an education
process through which children learn about
Agenda 21 and sustainable development.
This was conceived as a national level competition involving
school children between the ages of 7 and 12 regarding which rele-
vant National coordinating structures would invite children through
schools and educators as well as teachers’ associations, to submit
drawings that capture their sustainable development aspirations,
concerns and their understanding of Agenda 21 objectives.
Some 14 countries conducted poster competitions and the win-
ning entries were submitted to the Secretariat for display in the
Summit Convention Centre.
