Javelin (TAM E0207) Impact Statement •
Javelin Missile Launchers are experiencing a high rate of cracked Main Housing replacement due to rough and extended use handling. Replacement of this part requires the complete disassembly and rebuild of the launcher Battle worn Javelin Command Launch Units (CLU’s) will need extensive refurbishment to replace Night Vision Sight (NVS) lenses, day and night vision lens covers and protective foam pieces as well All MEF’s, including MARFORRES, have indicated that the Javelin rotation program should be continued with an increased quantity of 32 each (8 each per MEF, an entire battalion at a time) each year in addition to DMFA and WRMR assets. MEF Ordnance Officers indicated that the rotation program should last beyond the FY 07 period.
