Instructors from the NJDEP Division of Land Use Regulation (DLUR) will provide you with a review of the Freshwater Wetlands Protection Act rules, readopted October 6, 2008. Participants will learn when and how to apply for Letters of Interpretation, General Permits, Individual Freshwater Wetlands and State Open Water Fill Permits, and Transition Area Waivers.

• The role of federal agencies (EPA, Army Corps of Engineers, National Marine Fisheries Service, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) in the states’ “assumed” permitting process Rules, policies and procedures for the review of the following: Letter of Interpretation (LOI) General Permits (GP) for disturbances to Wetlands and/or Transition Areas Individual Freshwater and State Open Water Permit (FWIP) Transition Area Waiver (TAW) An overview of the Land Use Application Procedures including completing forms (LURP2 etc), calculating fees, using the new checklists and the new requirements for freshwater wetland applications will be presented. This course is your single best opportunity to get all the information you need about NJDEP’s Site Remediation Program (SRP) — in just one day! You will get clear, complete answers to all your basic questions. NJDEP representatives will explain the regulations and guidance documents you will need when conducting site investigations and remediation activities.
