End of Sale Announcement for HP VCX EPIC and eXchange (EasyRun) Call Center and Contact Center Products Announcement Date: May 27, 2011 End of Sale Date: June 1st, 2011 HP VCX EPIC and eXchange (EasyRun) SKU’s and remaining NBX EPIC/eXchange add on license End of Sale Overview HP has been selling EasyRun version 4.x SKU’s for both the NBX and VCX. HP has decided not to productize version 6.x SKU’s for these products. EasyRun is doing all future development, enhancements, and bug fixes starting with EasyRun’s version 6.x software only and will not be making changes, updates or bug fixes for version 4.x code for EPICCenter or eXchange. Therefore HP is announcing an End of Sale (ES) for all EasyRun EPICCenter and eXchange SKU’s. Specific customer support options for existing and future releases of EPICCenter and eXchange are detailed in the “Special EasyRun EPIC and eXchange HP Support Policies section” and FAQ sections below. Background on current products EasyRun has been designing and selling advance multimedia Contact Center and Telephony solutions worldwide since 2001. The company has over 2500 customer installations worldwide. From 2003 through April of 2011, 3Com actively sold EasyRun contact center solutions (through a joint OEM agreement) under the private label of EPICCenter and eXchange. During that time, EasyRun has partnered with 3Com to install and support EPICCenter and eXchange contact center solutions in hundreds of joint customer locations. HP will no longer sell or support EasyRun SKU’s on the HP price list as of June 1st, 2011 In January of 2010 3Com announced the End of Life for the NBX product line along with the end of life of the NBX EPIC and NBX eXchange base packages, however add on licenses remained on the HP Price List until today. In the current announcement, we are announcing the transfer of the VCX EPIC and eXchange call center/contact center product line to the Mature Products status, and removing all remaining NBX eXchange/EPIC and VCX eXchange/EPIC products off the corporate price list. However customers should recognize that EasyRun will continue to sell, support, and upgrade EPICCenter and eXchange for both the NBX and VCX Telephony solutions for the foreseeable future. HP has qualified the next generation of VCX EPICCenter/eXchange v6.0 with VCX9.8. HP Networking has made a strategic decision to not OEM nor launch EPIC/Exchange Version 6.0. However, HP will be referring all customers directly to EasyRun Corporation as a reference sell. In addition, although 3Com sold and installed version 4.x of EPICCenter and eXchange, EasyRun released version 6.x for both products in January of 2010. Version 6 adds significant functionality to both products. As per the terms of this announcement, customers that are still using either the NBX or VCX Telephony solutions have the option and are encouraged to work directly with EasyRun for ongoing support and professional services for either EPICCenter or eXchange. Customers who sign a direct support agreement with EasyRun also will have the option to upgrade their current contact center software to the latest version (currently version 6.x). EasyRun customers will continue to receive software upgrades and direct support from the Vendor for future software enhancements and upgrades. Warranty and Service Life After End of Sale, HP will continue to support this EoS product as specified below: During the Service Life period beginning on the actual End of Sale (ES) date and ending on the respective End of Service Life (EOSL) date (see Key Dates table below), customers are entitled to the following: • Product Warranty: For units (EPICCenter/eXchange Dongles) still under their 1 year warranty, HP will continue to support HP products in a manner similar to the support available prior to the ES date, but without Sustaining Engineering services. • Service Agreement: Mature Product Support without Sustaining Engineering services will be provided to existing service customers through the End of Service Date. Read more about the Mature Software Support service agreement below. Special HP EPIC and Exchange Support Policies If a customer has an issue and needs to move to the new version of EPIC or eXchange 6.0 software, HP will refund the remainder of customer’s HP service contract. Once a customer has resolved the contract refund with HP, please contact EasyRun for upgrade planning as HP will not be doing any upgrades for EPICCenter and eXchange going forward HP will migrate customers to a service called Mature SW Support service without sustaining engineering. At any time, customers can purchase a service contract directly from EasyRun and receive a refund of the remainder of their HP service contract. Frequently Asked Questions Q: Is HP discontinuing the VCX product with the EPICCenter/eXchange ES? NO, the VCX product is not End of Sale, this announcement is only for the HP EPICCenter and eXchange product numbers listed. Q: Is HP discontinuing just the Base packages or all EPICCenter / eXchange products? All EPICCenter and eXchange products are being discountinued. Q: I am an existing 3Com / HP EPICCenter or eXchange customer who recently purchased the product with an active 3Com/HP Support contract that I’ve already paid for. What happens to my contract? For products under warranty, HP will continue to support HP products. For customers required to move over to a newer version of EPIC or eXchange with EasyRun, HP will refund the remainder of the customers HP service contract. If anyone has already completed the purchase of the products and installed them, they can not be returned. HP will support them during the warranty period or per HP’s Mature service contract. For customers in the middle of purchasing, please work with HP order management to modify your order. For already purchased products that have not been installed yet, customers and resellers must contact their respective HP Sales representative or the HP distributor to discuss potential product refunds which may be possible. Q: Is HP discontinuing the NBX EPICCenter and eXchange products also as part of this announcement? 3Com had already discontinued the NBX EPICCenter and eXChange Base Packages back on Oct 31st, 2010 as part of the NBX End of Sale.
