Writing your Implementation
‘Implementation’ is the ICT-word for ‘making’.
Use this sheet to help you show evidence of implementation in your coursework
write-up.
Data collection, data capture and input
Show print screens of what you have implemented for data collection,
data capture and input - see the list shown below for examples.
Type a couple of sentences under each screen shot. You need to describe
what each screen shot is showing.
Type a couple more sentences after your descriptions. These need to
explain why you have created the things and why you used certain
techniques.
Examples of screen shot evidence needed for this section…
o All projects: Word processed data capture forms - surveys,
booking forms, etc
o Database projects…
Data entry forms
Lookups
o Presentation projects…
Examples of blank templates for each type of slide you are
using
These should show headings but no further data
Make sure you have an example of a table, showing where
data can be entered (eg: from a survey)
Try and use a range of slide types such as table, chart,
organisation chart, etc
Data verification and/or validation
Show print screens of what you have implemented for
verification/validation - see the list shown below for examples. You need
to have at least 2 examples of evidence of your methods of data
verification and/or validation.

what each screen shot is showing.
Type a couple more sentences after your descriptions. These need to
explain why you have created the things and why you used certain
techniques.
Examples of screen shot evidence needed for this section…
o Verification description - Type an explanation of how and why
data, that has been entered, is compared against the data capture
form (all projects).
o Validation settings in database projects - Show screen shots of
these. Show error messages that have been used.
Data and program structures
Show print screens of what you have implemented for data and program
structures - see the list shown below for examples.
Type a couple of sentences under each screen shot. You need to describe
what each screen shot is showing.
Type a couple more sentences after your descriptions. These need to
explain why you have created the things and why you used certain
techniques.

Tables in ‘design’ and ‘datasheet’ views
Primary key fields
Relationships (if used)
Foreign key fields (if used)

Slides in ‘slide sorter’ view
Screen shots of all slides
Remember that the slides are all to be used as templates and
the data will be entered in the ‘Testing’ section of the
project.
Output format
Show print screens of what you have implemented for output format - see
the list shown below for examples. You need to have 2 or more examples.
Type a couple of sentences under each screen shot. You need to describe
what each screen shot is showing.
Type a couple more sentences after your descriptions. These need to
explain why you have created the things and why you used certain
techniques.
If you have customised the outputs in any way (eg: created your own
Master slide or altered the layout of a report, explain how and why you
changed them).
Examples of screen shot evidence needed for this section…
o All projects: Show your logo design in the software you created it
with.
o Database projects…
Queries in ‘design’ and ‘datasheet’ views. Try and use
more than 1 type of query and sort the data. Types of query
include AND, OR, NOT, LIKE, BETWEEN, DATE, NOW
etc.
Reports in ‘design’ and ‘print preview’ views - More than 1
layout of report needed.
Mail merged documents showing merge fields (if used)
o Presentation projects…
Printout handouts of all slides (3 per page)
