NEW YORK--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Morgan Stanley Smith Barney today announced that it will host a
series of private receptions and investment symposiums during the month of October in Atlanta, New York City and
Menlo Park, CA on wealth planning for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) couples and domestic
partners. The events are part of an ongoing series of wealth-planning programs offered by Morgan Stanley Smith
Barney across the country.

The seminars are being offered in collaboration with the Williams Institute, a national think tank at UCLA Law that
advances sexual orientation law and public policy through rigorous, independent research and scholarship, and
disseminates it to judges, legislators, policymakers, media and the public.

“With marriage laws rapidly changing around the country, it’s imperative, now more than ever, for LGBT couples to
educate themselves about the unique wealth planning issues they may face, and understand the range of resources
available to assist them,” said Sandra Richards, Vice President, Business Development Officer, Diverse and
Multicultural Markets, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.

The seminars will feature Alan Wolberg, Executive Director, Wealth Advisory Resources, Morgan Stanley Smith
Barney, and will present findings of studies compiled by the Williams Institute on the challenges faced by LGBT
individuals and their partners under current retirement and Federal Estate Tax laws. They are designed to provide
helpful guidance, a proven approach to wealth planning, and a range of techniques and solutions designed to help
grow and protect wealth - over lifetimes and beyond. The presentation will also be available via podcast for use by
