CLOCKWORK REPOSITORY
Data model that sits in a relational database of your choice. This model contains all data load process control data, load execution statistics and data quality trending data. This repository is the foundation on which Clockwork sits, which all Clockwork Validation objects interact with. This Repository also contains the administrative parameters such as which tables to validate during the load process and how to validate them. Finally, it is also the source for administrative reporting about the ETL environment.
Clockwork Validation Objects
The validation objects are programs that implement the logic of data load validation. Specific objects will set initial parameters for the load cycle; other objects will perform the actual load validation between source and target tables using the administrative parameters that were set for these tables, while another class of objects deal with periodical health checks of the data warehouse.
Clockwork Reports
Clockwork publishes two categories of reports: Operational reports that convey information about the status of load cycles, specific tables and processes. These are used by the systems operations personnel to verify that the load cycles have completed correctly, and if not, reports will indicate where things went wrong to speed up ensuing corrective actions. Administrative reports. These allow the higher level management of the data load environment. Trend information like volume of data loaded over time, duration of overall load cycles and specific data quality indicators are displayed on these reports in order to keep track of Service Level Agreements parameters. This insures that the data load processes always work within the established parameters. Such reports will provide an early warning should batch windows be close to being exceeded or data quality indicators reach critical points.
