NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PUBLIC INSURANCE ADJUSTERS

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR THE 2011 ANNUAL MEETING IN ATLANTIS!
Professional education sessions providing five continuing education (CE) credits for public adjusters
are featured at the 2011 NAPIA Annual Meeting. The 3-1/2 day convention takes place June 8-11
at the exciting Atlantis Resort in Nassau, Bahamas. Seminar topics and speakers include:

“Case Studies of Hurricane Damage to Buildings & Associated Junk Science,” by
Anurag Jain, PhD, PE, of Weidlinger Associates, Inc.
“An Ethical Perspective on Legislative and Regulatory Developments in the States
as They Relate to Public Adjuster Licensing & Conduct in 2011,” by Brian Goodman,
Esq., of Hodes, Pessin & Katz, P.A.
“A Primer on Proving Roof Damage Cause by Windstorms,” by William “Chip” Merlin,
Esq., of Merlin Law Group, P.A.
“Public Adjusting & State Government Advocacy – Aligning the Interests of Policy
Holders & Public Adjusters,” by Jake Posey, Esq., of Posey Law Firm, P.C.
"Royal Bahamian v. QBE: What Adjusters Need to Know," by Michael Duffy, Esq. and
Katherine Dedrick, Esq. of Childress Duffy, Ltd.

SPPAs and CPPAs will receive a minimum of five continuing education credits for attending all
sessions. Applications for similar credit are pending with the state DOIs that require CEs.

If timely information, networking and CE credits aren’t enough, family-friendly Atlantis offers every-
thing from swimming with dolphins, to exploring marine habitats, to a 141-acre waterpark that
features giant high-speed waterslides. Atlantis has an assortment of things to do that will appeal
to all ages, including night clubs, casinos, golf, health spa, restaurants, children’s activities and more.
“It’s a special destination that has something for everybody,” notes NAPIA First Vice President
Ray Altieri. “If you’ve never been to a NAPIA meeting, then this is definitely the one to come to.”

Because Nassau is outside of the United States, attendees traveling from the US will be required
to have a passport (travel tips are available online at www.napia.com).

The convention opens Wednesday, June 8, with the welcome reception and concludes Saturday,
June 11, with the farewell dinner. The winner of this year’s Paul Cordish writing competition will
be recognized Friday evening during the annual banquet. The NAPIA golf tournament tees off
Thursday afternoon at the Ocean Club course adjacent to the resort. Registration fees for this
optional event include greens fees, cart rental, lunch, refreshments and prizes.

Spouses and guests will enjoy an organized shopping tour one morning on Nassau’s world-famous
Bay Street along with a unique spa opportunity at Atlantis.

To reserve a room in the Royal Towers at Atlantis, call 888-877-7525 or 954-809-2100 and request
the NAPIA rate of $290 single/double. You can also visit www.atlantis.com/myevent/napia.aspx
to book your room online. Log on to www.atlantis.com/allthingsatlantis.aspx for a resort guide book.
