Introduction

This draft paper includes the rules for the portrayal of geological maps by age, lithology and
contact/structure.
Age and lithology should be displayed using the RGB and CMYK colour values in tables 1-1
and 2-1 to 2-4 and structures and contact types should be displayed using the symbology in
tables 3-1 and 3-2.

1.2 Colour code of the IGME 5000

The ICS colours are not designed for display on screen. Thus, on the 1GE OMG meeting in
London it was agreed to use a modified colour scheme for display on screen to be provided
by WP 3. This is listed in table 1-2.
