why the KU MBA at SVKM?
The past 20 years have seen rapid and dramatic changes in the conditions within which business operates – globalisation has been the dominant force. Of particular relevance to MBA students is the globalisation of markets, of production and distribution, of finance and the exponential increase in developments in new technology which underpins them all. Today’s MBA students need both a strong theoretical and practical basis for understanding what changes are occurring in the contemporary global political economy, and why and how these might affect their strategic business policy formulation. The subject matter of the MBA, whilst providing the basics for senior management, will need to adjust accordingly to include not only issues of developing new markets, products and competitiveness, but also responsibilities and relationships between business, both public and private, on the one hand, and society, technology, culture, ecology and equality internationally on the other.
What’s in it for me and my organisation ? The Kingston MBA offers an intensive, stimulating and challenging learning experience that will provide you with a broad foundation of knowledge in the main management disciplines. In addition, the Kingston MBA will allow you to reflect on your professional practice and personal development, and lay the foundations for assuming a senior strategic role in your organisation. Organisations will benefit from the constructive and creative input that successful MBA graduates can contribute in terms of their ability to implement companywide decision making through their improved understanding of business strategies. In addition, the integrated nature of the MBA programme allows a holistic appreciation of your company that is critical to the achievement of a sustainable competitive position in today’s ever-changing business environment. Successfully complete the programme and you will be able to: Critically appraise a range of business management n theory and knowledge and apply it to the solution of business problems Be proficient in the analysis and interpretation of n business data Synthesise cross-disciplinary knowledge and apply n it to the analysis of complex business issues in a rapidly changing international business environment Demonstrate the key personal and inter-personal n skills required for effective leadership and implementation of solutions at all levels inside and outside your organisation Show n a critical appreciation of the significance of recent advances and theoretical developments in business, and their strategic implications.
