Agfa Graphics launched Mac version 4.0 of its :Arkitex IntelliTune image
processing software for newspapers as well as IntelliTuneX, a brand new
version for newspapers using PC platforms. :Arkitex IntelliTune is in use with
more than 300 newspaper installations worldwide. Users testify that it reduces
image processing time while improving quality; and speeds time to press by
eliminating time-consuming image correction.
The new Mac version now uses Agfa’s new Smart Input Space Recognition
technology (SISR) as well as Multi-Dimensional Processing (MDP) technology
to automatically analyse the tone, colour and spatial characteristics in every
image. Then it calculates and applies the necessary corrections for perfect
reproduction. A PDF processing option enables script-based processing of
RGB, CMYK and Greyscale PDF files. Embedded ICC profiles can be used,
ignored or overwritten. :Arkitex IntelliTune offers a choice between fully
automatic, semi-automatic or manual operation.
For PC Platforms.
:Arkitex IntelliTuneX, which is the PC-based version, makes its debut at Ifra.
This is a server-client based solution. Its J2EE application server core and full
java-browser user interface offer accessibility, scalability, as well as Agfa’s SISR
and MDP technology for intelligent Image manipulation. Full scalability and
expandability with division of work into cleanly separated subsets lets clients
look into each division to see how progress is being made via the browser-
based user-friendly interface.
:Arkitex IntelliTune 4.0 is available immediately and IntelliTuneX will be available
by the end of the year.
